I love this device. It is hard to tell if it really works by just looking at it. The proof comes from the smell it gives off when you sanitize your linens. Also, if you have allergies, you just might feel a lot better in the morning after sanitizing your pillow.

I read some other reviews that said the switch came on too easily. Mine isn't like that at all. You have to really slide it to make it come on. The little flash light is a nice bonus. That will come in handy while at hotels.

It is a little cheaply made, thus the 4 stars. For a hand held portable/travel device, this will work great. Some UV-C devices won't let you turn them face up but you can with this one. Those others have a safety feature which will shut off if turned upwards. This one also works continuously until you shut it off.

I purchased this device after getting ill in Mexico. I want to sanitize my room and water on the next trip. I plan on ordering the SteriPEN Classic Handheld Water Purifier next. I am not sure if you can use this device to sterilize orange juice like one review did. The SteriPen says it can only be used on clear water not other beverages. So maybe the same would be true for this device?

Use it for soft and hard surfaces and you'll have peace of mind.

Affordable and useful (4) AA battery operated UV-C light.
PROS: -pocket sized, -replaceable 4 watt bulb, -light weight, -price @$17.00 is a great price. UV-C bulb is 3.75" long - enough to sterilize toothbrushes, dentures, PC or other keyboards etc. -Also good in an emergency kit: could be used to sterilize water or other surfaces etc.
CONS: -on/off switch slides easily,(accidently possible), -*uv-c light reflected back onto hand holding the device, -no carry case included,(can trim and save plastic packaging).
Great product/price with a few concerns*.

I use this to de-germ my laptop keyboard, cell phone, cordless phone, etc...things you can't really WASH. I guess it works...I have had it about a year and last year was the first time in 5 years that i didn't get sick over the winter.

Weakish UV light + the switch for the white light does not lock into position very well.

May be better off going with a single function UV light sterilizer.

very good for the price ; another reviewer had mentioned "no switch to shut off" if you gently move the slider switch between flash and uv , it will shut off .

This hand-held purifier appears to work as advertised, but I have no way of verifying bacteria count. You would not want to use it for a large area because you have to hold it over the object for about 30 seconds according to their directions, and this would take forever on a large area like a counter top. I think it would be most useful for things like TV remotes in hotel rooms, or door handles. When you put the batteries in (not included), it is fairly heavy, so it is not something that would be an easy carry unless a lady had a large purse, or a guy had a big pocket. Functionally the switch is a major pain because it is too easy to move it from off to flashlight mode, which will drain your batteries in a hurry. I do not know why they put a flashlight in the thing to begin with, because it is not a very good one. If you put a piece of tape preventing the switch from going to flashlight mode, you can prevent this problem. If they would give it a decent switch I would rate it a 5, but I can only give it 3+ stars like it is

This was a terrible product. Upon opening, the flashlight goes on, but the actual sanitizing light does not. When I decided to take a closer look at it, the bulb inside was broken, the outer casing was broken, and the product itself is just very cheap.

Nice tool for cleaning hard surfaces, keyboards, door handles etc. although you have to spend a few minutes doing it as the power is not that great.
The batteries are quite hard to insert. For som unknown reason it also serves as a flash light, but is quite weak.
I recommend getting one at home and one at the office.

I ordered this for my son who has OCD and his obsessive tendencies revolve around things touching the floor and getting germs on them. He was always sneaking and getting the disinfectant spray out of the cabinet and I was worried about us breathing in the chemicals so often. I decided to order this and see if I could get him to use this instead of the spray. So far it has worked well. Its not the best made item by far, the battery door will not stay on by itself but we just put scotch tape on it to hold it on. Would not give anymore than 15$ for it.

I had a UVC wand and wanted something to carry in my purse. The wand was too large. I purchased this unit. It arrived in fairly decent packaging but I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED in the craftsmanship of the item. I put the 4 AA batteries in and then the battery cover would not go back on properly EVER. I finally decided to just use a darn rubberband to hold the cover on. The flashlight worked fine but the the UVC did not work because the BULB WAS BROKEN. The one end of the bulb looked like it had come unglued .. (are the ends of these bulbs GLUED ON?) .. Anyway, Now I have to buy a bulb and THEY ARE NOT CHEAP. I was going to send the whole thing back but it cost 1/2 of what a bulb costs to send everything back. BE CAREFUL what you order online. ALSO, there are different models of this particular light. RESEARCH it and make sure you get the model you truly want. Long story short ... YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR.
