The 1st review was irresponsible; this is an important, outstanding book,

This review is from: Purify and Destroy: The Political Uses of Massacre and Genocide (The CERI Series in Comparative Politics and International Studies) (Paperback)
The first reviewer should not have taken out his/her grievance on the author. It sounds like the publisher made an error, but it's not the author's fault, and this book does not deserve to be tainted with that negative review. The book itself is excellent, and makes a valuable contribution to comparative genocide studies, as the quotations on this page from people like Bartov, Melson, and other leading authorities attest.

It's not the book, it's the cover,
This review is from: Purify and Destroy: The Political Uses of Massacre and Genocide (The CERI Series in Comparative Politics and International Studies) (Hardcover)
We ordered PURIFY & DESTROY for our library, but when it came in, only the cover and title page were correct; the rest of the book, from Contents page on, is a translation of SERBIA'S GREAT WAR, 1914-1918, by Andrej Mitrovic.
Writing to Columbia U P hasn't generated any response. So if you order this title, make sure you're get the book, the whole book, and nothing BUT the book! |
