It is so hard to find pet food that does not contain corn products as the main ingredient, or even the first two main ingredients. I checked every single package at my local market and this product was the ONLY one that appeared to have healthier ingredients, even compared to other products that were labeled as healthy alternatives. I know lately more have come on the market, but I already know both of my cats love this food. And with Subscribe & Save, the deal on Amazon is better than the one at my market.

Finally, here is the full main ingredient list:

Ingredients

Salmon, chicken meal, whole brown rice, soybean meal, whole barley, whole oat meal, animal fat preserved with mixed-tocopherols (form of Vitamin E), soy protein isolate, brewers dried yeast, dried egg product, dried beet pulp, natural flavor, fish oil, phosphoric acid, calcium carbonate, whole cranberries, caramel color, dried tomatoes, dried spinach, salt, potassium chloride, taurine, choline chloride, calcium phosphate, Vitamin E supplement, zinc sulfate, ferrous sulfate, niacin, manganese sulfate, Vitamin A supplement, calcium pantothenate, thiamine mononitrate, copper sulfate, riboflavin supplement, Vitamin B-12 supplement, pyridoxine hydrochloride, folic acid, Vitamin D-3 supplement, calcium iodate, biotin, menadione sodium bisulfite complex (source of Vitamin K activity), sodium selenite.

I have three cats--one is 19 years old and arthritic, one is 4 and has occasional urinary tract problems, and my "baby", one year old, has allergies resulting in exzema and diarrhea! This is the only dry cat food I've found that works for all three! It took a few days for them to become accustomed to it but now they all love it. Please, Purina, never change this formula!

My two fat cats are close to 18 years old. I've fed them Purina products all their life but thought I would try this new cat food because of their health. They had dull hair, no energy and when they went to the litter pan it was the most disgusting smell ever. I heard of the BeYond food made to digest better so there's less waste and thought that it was worth trying. They were on their 2nd 1 pound box when I started noticing the difference. I thought it was just me looking for the difference but even my husband noticed. Their hair is so shiny and I can pet them without getting a handful of fur. Their energy is up and the litter box, though still stinky, is so much better. Yes, I'm sold on this new food. Now to see what the dog BeYond does for my mutts :D

This One Beyond Salmon & Whole Brown Rice dry kibble is the only healthy dry food my 9 year old cat will eat. In fact, he loves it so much he eats it every night and never gets tired of it. He's is missing several teeth but has no problem chewing this small sized kibble. Real salmon is the first listed ingredient and there are cranberries, tomatoes and spinach along with whole brown rice. No corn or wheat. This product is not easy to find so I am particularly happy to purchase it through the subscribe and save program.

My 2 cats, previously healthy eaters of the original Purina One formula, both got very sick after a few weeks on this food. One nearly stopped eating and lost an alarming amount of weight; the other was throwing up almost daily. Both of them were constipated and mangy looking. I switched them to a different brand of dry food, and they both recovered quickly.

(Note, there's a recall on the dog food of this same brand, for salmonella contamination. Google it or see the fda site: [...]

My cats have liked this food for several months but the last two bags we ordered in August have both now been tossed, as something has been making them sick. One even has been turning his nose up at it, and like Mikey, he eats anything.

Will file a report with Purina and keep on my quest to find a decent food that both kitties like, one of whom is purrrrsnickety and has a skin allergy. We'll keep looking for a new food without corn/wheat/fillers etc that she'll eat.

Both of our cats love this!

I have paid special attention to the ingredients list and have been pleased to find that it does not include corn products or byproducts. Sadly, most cat foods on the market have corn as their first, second, or third ingredient. Sometimes it is both the second AND third ingredient (corn meal and another corn byproduct, etc.). I wish I had known this fact a long time ago. I have recently been looking for a healthier choice for my two cats and even the ones that state that they are a healthy alternative tend to contain ingredients that I would question and in amounts that are alarming. This is the ONLY cat food at my market that does not contain corn as a main ingredient and it seems the healthiest alternative. I have tried (through Amazon) other alternatives that are just as healthy, but sadly my cats did not like the taste. This one they adore.

Healthy and tasty. I couldn't ask for more.

I can never find anything that my cats will love and repeatedly eat. Until I found this dry cat food. It is almost as if I do not have the same cats. We have 2 Russian Blue's and they define the term 'picky eater'. There has been more food wasted because they simply turned away. Our female would rather starve herself than to eat something that she dislikes, and because of her, we have been searching for something; anything, that she would eat. Thank you Purina One Beyond Cat Chicken Oatmeal!!!
