3.0 out of 5 stars Not bad for South american music
This music isn't all that creative, it isn't afro-cuban jazz or anything, but it is plaesing and soothing, you might buy it, if you've seen the band, and feel that you need a souveneer.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Blazers, August 11, 2000

Puro Blazers is the Blazers first all-Spanish language CD and lets them revel in their own cultural roots, drawing on the deep well of Mexican-American musical tradition. The album came about as a result of the overwhelmingly positive response the band would receive whenever they would play a Spanish song during one of their live sets. In this effort, they use a medley of drums, banjos, electric guitars, bass, the tres, and bajo sexto which comebines to produce an enjoyable and culturally enriching CD.

this is a really good cd. its a spanish cd but hey, don't let that throw you off just because of that. these guys are super cool. i had the chance to tour with them in europe with the band the paladins and they are killer. just buy the record, grab a pacifico, a carne asada burro and listen. such great musicianship and talent from these guys. a truly good cd of great norteno mexican music.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant artists, August 5, 2002

I just find it amazing how talented these guys are. This mostly spanish album is an answer to their loyal fans all over. During recent summer concerts in Riverside and Pico Rivera, California, they had the entire place dancing whenever a cumbia or nortena was played. Whenever they switched to some of their sweet blues stuff, the crowd quickly sat down. The Blazers quickly figured out what the crowd wanted and reverted to pure spanish stuff. I think this album answers the same need. I love it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Honest and heartfelt music, July 24, 2002

This recording is a welcome addition to the other great Blazers records. This is music from the heart and soul and will touch anyone who listens. The group is also a truly great live band that plays with passion. The Blazers deserve a wider audience for their musical magic.
