Quality filter for a great price,

Got this for my Honda. This is better than Honda's own OEM filter now that production has been moved to Honeywell/Fram. It's just sad that Fram has become so popular and dominating even though it has consistently been the worst filter brand.
Lets all be happy that we can still buy a quality Purolator filter at what is an excellent price! Oddly enough, this PureOne filter was cheaper than the regular Purolator filter.

PureONE Top Rated,

I did an extensive study on filters for my new Yamaha FJR1300 and the PureONE came out on top every time. It is modestly priced as compared to the competition and Amazon has the best deal ($5.88/ea and buy 6 for free freight). An equivalent filter from Yamaha doesn't exist. The OEM filter uses a paper media with paper end caps and the Purolator is comprised of three different media; paper, fiberglass and polyester. The PureONE has more pleats yielding more surface area for your buck and filters below 10 microns. The anti-drainback valve was superior as well.
The Yamaha OEM filter costs twice the price and doesn't filter the smaller particles. Although the PureONE filter is blue and my bike is Black Cherry in color, the difference in color is acceptable for the benefits. I have switched to synthetic (Amsoil MCF) after the first 2,500 miles and now feel confident that my bikes internals will last a very long time!

Different color filter? Don't Worry!,
By Cane Nectar "canenectar" (FL United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Purolator PL14610 PureONE Oil Filter (Pack of 2)
I was perusing the reviews and came across one that gave this excellent filter only one star. All because it came in a different color other than the advertised blue. I have been using these filters for several years on several different make vehicles. They truly perform their job. The reason for the different color is that Purolator has improved their filter container and it is now in a textured matte yellow. The texture makes it easier to grab when oil has come in contact with the surface. So it is now actually, a more rugged looking, easier to handle filter at a great price. Thanks Amazon for another great product available through your site.

Superb, Super-Sized Oil Filters at an Amazing Price!,

These highest-rated Purolator 'PureOne' P/N: PL14610 oil filters are also larger than standard-size replacement PL14612, and fit not only my '96 Miata roadster but also my Honda NT650 and VFR750 motorcycles!
Considering that 'Pure One' filters can be difficult to find in local brick & mortar automotive supply stores in certain areas, that they are abundant here on AMAZON at amazing low prices is remarkable; that they are available with FREE, SUPER-SAVING SHIPPING is just icing on the cake, folks!

Great Filter. Ugly Color!!!,

Bought several twin-paks of this filter for my BLUE Honda VTX 1300. Have read numerous reviews on the quality of this filter, and am a stickler when it comes to mechanical issues. This is a great filter, lots of surface area internally for continued flow, even after extended use.
Filter arrived painted an extrememly UGLY gold, rough (grip) finish. I'm glad it's under the bike.

This is one of the best filters money can buy. Do a search for oil filter tests, and you will see that this statement is the truth. Most filter media available on the market, one of the best designed, best value filter I've ever found. I run these on my street car, race car, tow vehicle, and motorcycles. Amazon goes above and beyond and prices the two pack for almost the same price as a single filter costs in the parts stores, so you get an awesome filter at an unbeatable price!

These filters rule!! They should fit most motorcycles without a problem. They fit my friend's 2006 FZ6 just fine, and they work on my 2002 VFR800 (the PL14612 fits better if you have the EVAP canister still installed).
From all the reviews I've read about filters, the Purolator PureOne filters are top notch and extremely well built. If you ever seen one taken apart and compared to OEM or budget filters (e.g. Fram) there's a huge difference.

After reading tons of information on the filter I found two on Amazon for a fair price and were instantly shipped to me. I highly recommend Amazon.

I'll take the manufacturer's word on the performance of the filter but I don't like the newish
added rough surface material on the outside of the filter. The extra thickness of the finish interferes with an end cap type oil wrench and thus is not helpful in tight situations such as our Civic. I vote go back to the older blue painted finish. Update: recently picked up another pair and the "grip" surface on the filter is thinner and now doesn't interfere with an end cap type filter wrench.

I cut open filters that fit the same car from Fram (Tough Guard)' Mobil 1, and this Pure 1 filter. You cannot tell what size particles are captured by the media this way (Mobil 1 and Pure 1 claim synthetic media), but you can count pleets. The Pure 1 had nearly twice as many, and the bypass and general construction seems to be better also. And the Pure 1 costs about half of what the Mobil 1 filter costs.
