Warning: misleading picture!,
By D. Sinclair (Beaverton, OR, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Purple Gel Crystal Transparent Mousepad and Wrist Rest (Electronics)
The picture for this item implies that it includes the mousepad, keyboard wrist rest, and mini rest. But that is not true; you only get the mousepad. The product looks cheap in the picture, and the actual product when it arrived matched that impression. But while getting all three for that price would be a good deal, just one is not worth it.

Comfortable, but doesn't last long,

The wrist rest is comfortable, the only problem was that after a couple months the piece of plastic on top of the mouse pad came loose. I can't get it back in place so it bubbles up and messes with my mouse. The area underneath is sticky so you can't remove the plastic piece and keep using it. I purchased 2 of these and it happened to both of them.

I love this. My hand is now PAIN FREE. I love the gel and the color. I don't know what that order review was about mine came with the mouse and the gel pad as one piece. I am a complete believer in this product and will never go back to a flat mousepad.

I originally bought my purple Fellowes mousepad at Wal Mart several years ago (something like 5+ years ago) and have been using it ever since. I didn't have any problems with it until about a year ago when the gel pad sprung a leak and the plastic surface piece began to separate around the edges (basically the surface piece is separating from the gel backing). I was able to patch the hole with a band aid and the peeling has not progressed since, nor has the edge separation had any effect on usability (I don't even notice it unless I pick it up). Although I keep mine pretty much stationary at my desk, I have cleaned it multiple times with a wet, soapy wash cloth with no problems. A couple of days ago the gel pad finally sprung several more leaks, which I cleaned up. I now have packing tape layered over it to stop the sticky gel from leaking out however, it's still in usable condition and I'm still using it. This has been an excellent mouse pad, and I'm buying another one just like it as a replacement. I figure the $15 I paid for it was well worth the 5+ years of usability. Oh and as far as using it for gaming, I'm a gamer. The vast majority of usage hours have been gaming hours. I haven't had any trouble using this mouse pad for gaming purposes.

Nice Item, Good Price,

This mousepad is exactly what I needed. It is comfortable to use and my new cordless mouse tracks on it effortlessly. Love the color, too! Can't go wrong with this mousepad, especially for the price. The only reason I am giving it four stars instead of five is that for adults with smaller hands/wrists (like me), you might find that it takes a little while for your wrist to get used to the angle of being on the gel support pad. Other than that, it's a great item and I'm very satisfied with my purchase.

Purchased this Fellowes mousepad (#866151) to replace a similar Fellowes mousepad I had purchased about 5 years ago.The original mousepad (possibly model#91141?), purchased for about $2.00 at a closeout store, was pretty much the same thing as this one, but a model with a very slightly thicker gel wristrest. The mousepad portion held up fine, but the gel rest finally split, and I nursed it along for a year before deciding to get a replacement. The replacement arrived, and looked pretty much the same, but withing 10 days the mouspad surface delaminated from the rubber base and started buckling. Numerous times per day I'd try to stick it back down to prevent the laser mouse from mistracking, but then the base buckled too. Stapled the edges to try to get it to stay down, but mouse bumped into staples. I finally gave up and cut the mousepad portion away from the wristrest, did the same to the old one with the bad wristrest, threw the new mouspad away, and taped the old mouspad to the new gel wristrest portion. Fairly annoyed that I paid close to $14 for the privilege. If you could ignore the disintegration issue (which you really can't), the gel wristrest and the mousepad features (not sliding, etc) are great - that's why I bought it to replace the old gel Fellowes. It appears that quality of this particular Fellowes gel mousepad is not what it used to be.

The wrist rest is incredibly comfortable even after many hours. The plastic surface on the pad section has started separating from the base after about two weeks, but it's not breaking and there is always glue when it becomes an issue. Otherwise a fairly good mousepad.

I had to return this item because it smells horrible. I tried to see if the odor would fade but it didn't. Besides the odor the wrest isn't comfortable at all. Wish I could have given it no stars.

I love this mouse pad. I had it at work but then I retired so I had to leave it behind. I purchased it for home use and it really is comfortable to use. Of course, purple, my fave color, was a must-have. It comes in other colors too, though. I highly recommend this item to anyone who uses the computer frequently.

The wrist support works extremely well however the actual pad part started falling apart as soon as it was out of the packaging. I superglued it back to the base and it's holding up well now.
