This IS The 8:42 min. Version
Not sure if the other reviews were somehow related to another download -- or if Amazon corrected the situation since then. Anyway, as title suggests, this is the long version. So relax :o) That said, it does not sound like it has been well (or at all) remastered, a bit flat but listenable. I'll probably pop into Steinberg Cubase and improve it for my own listening...

Why do they only have the short version?
Why do they only have the short version? The original "purple rain" was an epic, 8 minute long composition. Given that the track is downloaded and not played on a radio or something, I would expect that they would have the full length, but they don't. What a disappointment?!

Never got it to download tried several times even called tech support no help. Was from one of the drink company point prizes so I did not care.
