5.0 out of 5 stars D12 DEVILS NIGHT ALBUM
PURPLE HILLS; IN MY OPINION [STICKS]. PEOPLE GO AROUND THINKING THAT IT'S THE "REAL VERSION". DO YOU HONESTLY THINK EMINEM IS GONNA RAP ABOUT SOME DAMN HILLS AND CLIMBING MOUNTAINS? AS FOR THE "D12 DEVILS NIGHT" ALBUM; I GOT IT BURNED BEFORE IT CAME OUT; AND IN MY OPINION; IT'S TIGHT; ONLY SINCE EMINEM CO-PRODUCED IT. IF YOU LIKE EMINEM; THAN YOU'LL LOVE D12 CUS THEY'RE...

Okay - Even I'll admit it - "Purple Hills" does undeniably have a catchy beat and a cool music video. But did you really believe that a song featuring Eminem could really be as harmless as this? Neither did I.

So I checked the lyrics. The real song is called "Purple Pills" - yes, you guessed it, a drug-infused single about tesing different drugs and...

5.0 out of 5 stars Marshall Mathers kills!!, March 8, 2002

D12's new CD (Devil's Night) rules and most of all Purple Hills rules!! It has catchy beats. The lyrics are totally changed in the song though. He doesn't rap about climbing up hills, he raps about drugs. Ex. I take a couple lovers, I down a couple downers, but nothing compares to these blue and yellow purple pills!

5.0 out of 5 stars Tight song that lives up to expectations, June 24, 2001

This review is from: Purple Hills (Audio CD)
This song is has a great beat with a slight jazzy/blues feel to it, espescially at the end with a harmonica buzzing away. Add this beat to the great flows from, Eminem, Proof, Swifty, Kuniva, Kon Artist and Bizarre and you have an excellent song. Good chorus and hook/bridge with some of the usual sarcastic lyrics from Eminem and his crew make this song, amusing to listen to when you take it with a pinch of salt. I hope you enjoy it...

5.0 out of 5 stars Self-censorship proves to be successful, June 21, 2004

Although the song is not called Purple Hills (it's really called Purple Pills), the slef-censorship D12 has displayed for their hit single still makes it sound good. The song is one of D12's best songs and it is flawless with a catchy beat and slapstick lyrics. Some say this song is inappropriate due to drug references but this "video version" is totally edited and you would never know Swifty of D12 is rapping, "I take four E's at one time/ And I don't need no water while swallowing mine!"

Eminem has been produced by the pheonimal Dr.Dre. Now he has started to produced the side project D12. There first single of their new album "Devil's Night" is great. Purple Hills has great verses and a cathcy chorus. For Eminem fans, this is your song.

Okay - Even I'll admit it - "Purple Hills" does undeniably have a catchy beat and a cool music video. But did you really believe that a song featuring Eminem could really be as harmless as this? Neither did I.

So I checked the lyrics. The real song is called "Purple Pills" - yes, you guessed it, a drug-infused single about tesing different drugs and helping your mother who's just swallowed a handful of Valium into bed. Sick. It may even seem funny, but not to the eight year olds who watch MTV with their sibs.

Parents, I realize that you think this song is harmless. Have you heard the lyrics? They seem totally out of place! It's not "I've Run The Highest Mountain" in the chorus line, it's "I've Run Up Mushroom Mountain". haha.

Nothing compares to these blue and yellow purle lies. Cya.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not as good as the CD version...., June 25, 2001
This review is from: Purple Hills (Audio CD)
You have probably all seen the newest D12 video. This is just the version of "Purple Hills" from the video. Not really worth buying, just buy the full CD, Devil's Night.
