I have very dry skin that breaks out due to the dryness. My doctor recommended I use this product and since I have started using it, I have not had one single breakout. And my skin feels refreshed, renewed, and all my dry patches are gone. I have tried everything, Cetaphil, Neutrogena, Clean and Clear, Dove, Oil of Olay, and the list goes on, but this is by far, hands down the best product for my skin and it does not break the bank. I wish I had known about this much sooner. I am EXTREMELY satisfied with this product. It may not be for everyone, but even my husband who has oily skin loves it as well. I am hoping they can come out with a bodywash.

I love this product. At one point I thought J&J was going to discontinue it and so I stocked up. I use it to wash my face and it leaves it clean yet moisturized. Many other cleansers either leave residue on your face or they completely dry out your skin. I've had great results using this cleanser every day.

The label is so simple and non-descript that I would have just ignored it on the shelves. Honestly, I probably have.

I have been battling blemishes and acne ever since high school. I've tried expensive face washes, whole face wash product lines (ProActive, Murad), and some of the trendier face washes such as Zihr.

I had a severe breakout on my forehead and nothing would help clear it up. After just using Purpose for about a week, you can't even tell that I had much of anything on my forehead! It doesn't leave my face insanely dry. I still put on some light oil-free SPF 15 lotion for my face, though.

Use it with lukewarm water to open up the pores enough to clean thoroughly, but not hot enough to leave your skin dry.

Forget all those expensive facial cleansers! I have very sensitive skin, and this cleanser is all that is says it is. It gently and effectively removes all dirt, oil, and even eye make-up, including water proof mascara! I highly recommend it. I only wish it came in a more travel friendly container than the pump bottle, but we can't have it all! It's still a 5-star cleanser!

This is a great cleansing wash that my wife's dermatologist recommended. It is ideal as a face wash because it doesn't dry out your skin after using it the way some astringent washes do, leaving your skin scaly or rough. It also washes off easily and doesn't leave a thin film behind like other washes. It is very good at cleaning but also quite gentle. Highly recommended if you have more sensitive skin and need a face wash that doesn't completely dry you out.

Believe me when I write that I am a product junkie!! This stuff while inexpensive and without any fancy scents or skin reactions (like cooling or warming) is a fantastic product. It cleans my very combination skin well, minimizes the appears of nose pores, minimizes breakouts and it doesnt dry my skin. This is the best facial cleanser for people with normal to dry OR combination skin.

I have been using this product for many years after being recommended from my Dermatologist. It is soap free, hypoallergenic, and cleans well, lathers great, and smells wonderful. Buying bulk online with free shipping and no taxes, I saved $$. Walmart can't even beat this deal.

Finally, a cleanser that doesn't irritate my combination skin and really leaves my face feeling clean rather than dried out! Thanks, J&J for keeping Purpose Gentle Cleansing Wash - 6 Oz on the market long enough for me to discover it.

This was recommended to me by my dermatologist and I've been using it for years. It works great, and I love that I can wash my eye make-up off without worrying about painful soap or chemicals getting into my eyes. It lathers well and is very affordable.

The GOOD:
-Very gentle
-Does not dry skin
-Effectively prevents breakouts
-Clean smell
-Rinses off well

The BAD:
-Tough to find in my area

I've had problem skin since my early teens and have only recently gotten it under control. Proactive, Noxema, Clearasil... you name it, I've tried it. I had been using Cetaphil Daily Cleanser for the past year, but finally got sick of the medicinal smell and rising cost. After reading loads of reviews online, I found this J&J Purpose Gentle Cleanser and have fallen in love with it. It's super gentle and doesn't dry out my skin, but removes loads of dirt and oil. A little cleanser goes a long way (I only use about half a pump per wash). My only complaint is that it's hard to find near my home. I've seen it in a few Krogers and Giant Eagles, but not where I live. I will continue to buy from Amazon until I find it in grocery stores. Love this stuff.
