Purposeful Christianity - From One Who Spreads The Verve, June 23, 2004
This review is from: Purposeful Christianity: Sharing the Verve and Value of the Prince of Peace (Paperback)
Kris confesses that she is a 'beginner Christian' at the start of this book and as the pages progress so does her story and her love of God and all things good (us)! From her 'call' to be baptised, through her finding a church that could really be called 'hers' and her following study of the Bible, Kris professes the love of God through her words and the enthusiasm with which she chases God and wants to show other people how to find the good things in God's love for us. I did three years of Christian Scriputures at university and wished I had happened upon things I found in this book. Loving God and understanding the Bible were explained in ways which were both simple yet profound here. Purposeful Christianity is an easy to understand book with fanstastic and loving revelations. I believe that people seeking Christianity and those who have been in the love of God for many years will find it an enlightening and uplifting read.

Purposeful Christianity, October 11, 2006
This review is from: Purposeful Christianity: Sharing the Verve and Value of the Prince of Peace (Paperback)
Kristine Smith's Book "Purposeful Christianity" was a pleasure to read. I say this because it is what I call a comfortable, relational book. As I read through the chapters it seemed like I was sitting down at a small table at Starbucks chatting with a Christian friend as she shared her life in Christ. Contained in the book are experiences and thoughts that are common to most Christians, and that is where the value is in its reading. It reminds you of yourself. The struggles, the revelations, the learning curve, the doubts, the questions, the testing of faith, the amazement of what God can do, the trusting in the God who saved you, all are there to be relived in the words of another believer. Don't get me wrong, the book is not just a casual read. There is plenty of meaty doctrine hidden amongst the sentences of personal witness. There is also great wisdom from God to be gleaned as you contemplate what is shared. God works through all of us as His Holy Spirit uses our natural talents and spiritual gifts to encourage each other in our faith and "Purposeful Christianity" is a labor of love from a dedicated Christian woman. I oversee several Bible studies and quoted from the book in several instances to complement my teaching and others saw what I had seen, the common bond we all have in Christ as we share our lives and how God works in them. I would highly recommend "Purposeful Christianity" to anyone who wants to learn a little of what Christianity is all about from a committed follower of Jesus Christ, King of kings.

I pray that this book will do for every reader what it has done for Anne Richardson in Australia. I cried when I read her review, realizing how God has used me to impart knowledge of the Bible she did not receive while studying the Bible at a university. I pray that fellow Christians (and those wondering about the faith) will find this book compelling and that you will give copies as gifts to anyone you know who is seeking an intimate, personal relationship with the Prince of Peace. May this book truly change lives in eternal ways!
