Book Description

If you’ve ever wanted to tear the 31st chapter of Proverbs out of your bible this book is for you.

She is a wife, mom, business owner, seamstress, she serves the needy, speaks life and wisdom, and seems to be a major overachiever, perfectionist type.

Except that…she’s not.

Come along and journey with Amy and take a look at the real woman of Proverbs 31. She isn’t as perfect as she seems. In fact, I think she is a lot like you and me.

In Pursuit of Proverbs 31, Amy Bayliss gives you a biblical view of the scriptures that are found tucked away at the end of the book of wisdom. With Southern charm and raw, real emotions she’ll tug at the core of your being. She’ll give you a new perspective and inspire you to pursue Proverbs 31; she’ll inspire you to pursue Jesus.

5.0 out of 5 stars Get this book! March 13, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Wow, where do I begin???

If you ever wanted to have a heartfelt conversation with Amy Bayliss, here's your chance. Amy opens here heart to share what God had taught, shown, and told her over the last few years. She lays it all out there- allowing herself to be vulnerable by sharing personal stories, struggles, trials, and accomplishments.

I find it quite easy to relate to Amy as a fellow woman seeking this seemingly elusive Proverbs 31 woman. How refreshing to finally have this "woman" explained as more than just "someone to emulate."

This is more than a book, more than a story, more than a "chat". It is a challenge to leave your failures and fretting in the past and make changes that will improve your future from day one.

Amy gives practical, down-to-earth advice, tips, and suggestions. She shares what works for her and encourages her readers to find what works for them.

I read this book straight through twice. I will now be reading this book a third time, this time REALLY digging in and journaling my journey.

Thank you, Amy, for allowing your readers to have a genuine and real visit with you! I only wished you lived closer so we could sit on the porch, share a pitcher of sweet tea, and get to know each other more! You have inspired me to take the necessary steps to put into action that which I've felt led to do for God and have not done for far too long. Thank you.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great bible study! October 29, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
"Yet even in the midst of wearing the Superwoman cape I echoed the questions that have plagued the hearts and minds of so many: Why can't I get it right? How can I find more time to get it all done? Why isn't God helping me?"

I love, no I ADORE, reading books and bible studies, but I will tell you that the topic of Proverbs 31 has always intimidated me and I know I'm not alone. The Perfect Woman described there is unattainable (or so it seems). That's why Amy's study really is a breath of fresh air! She reminds us from the get-go that Only Christ can completely fulfill Scripture. He did so on the cross. That was His job. My job is to accept that and follow Him. We aren't expected to be all that is written in Proverbs 31 and yet, in our imperfections we are still worth "more than rubies."

I needed to hear that. Don't you?

This study is broken into ten chapters, and at the end of every chapter, Amy lists Focused Thoughts, Scripture for Memory, Essential (points made), Useful, and a Bonus. Each chapter takes Proverbs 31 and breaks it down into understandable, usable and attainable pieces of study. I love Chapter 4's reminder that "We should be praying for our husband daily. They face so many fleshly temptations and as their helpmate it is our responsibility to cover them in prayer" and Chapter 6's directive that "We must parent on purpose". And, I'm a huge fan of saving money and resources, so Chapter 8 - Pocket Full of Resources just speaks to me.

So, if you're looking for a personal or group bible study, I wholeheartedly recommend "Pursuit of Proverbs 31"!!

I received a free copy of this book/Ebook/Product to review. I was not required to write a positive review nor was I compensated in any other way. The opinions I have expressed are my own. I am disclosing this in accordance with the FTC Regulations. I am part of The CWA Review Crew.
