Who's got the last laugh now? OK I know that was cheesy for me to throw that in there, but you know I had to. Ramp was a big hit and well this album is full of hits. Usually greatest hits albums are just a compilation of songs and were never really hits in the first place, these songs were though and for a good reason too. It was because they were good. Buy this now! You get all the hits from 98 to 2002, plus more stuff on disc 2 like live tracks and remixes and this compilation has new songs on it which all are good also.

Seriously. This might be the coolest CD I've ever heard.

Scooter are the best techno band going, in my mind, and it's ridiculous how few Americans have heard them. This album collects the singles and b-sides from their "second chapter" (defined by the third member of the band; in this era Axel Coon joined core members H.P. Baxxter and Rick Jordan). If you've never heard Scooter, this is about the best introduction you could get, but some of their best songs hide later on in their full-length albums and were never released as singles, and hence didn't make it onto this disc.

"Ramp!" is a sweet song, but don't let it fool you: "Aiii Shot the DJ" is the real beginning of this CD. This one is in my top three techno songs, and if you have a friend who wants to know what Scooter is all about, this should be the first song you play them. In due course, you get the bombastic "I'm Your Pusher," techno ballad "She's the Sun," the great single mix of "F the Millennium," and "FASTERHARDERSCOOTER," which any Scooter fan will tell you is the coolest song ever. We're only a fourth of the way in at this point. There is not a bad or even average song on the entire album (though I'm not much of a fan of remixes and live recordings).

Yes, the price is steep on all Scooter albums, but this one is a two-disc set and thus presents an especially good value. This is a collection of absolutely transcendant techno, and if you like this kind of music even the slightest bit you should scrounge up the money. Also look at "Back to the Heavyweight Jam," in my opinion the best all-around Scooter album.

the fisrt scooter single i ever herd was the logical song, since then i have been a massive fan. when i heard this song, i had to get the album. push the beat for this jam was the best album i ever brought and thanks to this i became a fan of scooter, it offers great singles from 98 till 2002 and some fantastic remixes just begging to be heard time and time again. today i have now got all scooter albums out and i am happy that i brought this album, this is a great album with massive replay for constant great music, a must have for fans and any who would be intrested in scooters tunes, you never know, you might become a fan yourself.

This is Scooter's second compilation of singles, the first being "Rough and Tough and Dangerous" (that was the period in which Ferris Bueller was with the band from 1994 to 1998). I thought "Rough and Tough and Dangerous" was bloody awesome, but I found this compilation to be even more bloody awesome. This album is the compilation of singles when Axel Coon was with Scooter (1998-2002).

OK, first of all, it's hard to say what is the greatest Scooter song or album ever, but I think that this album ranks up there just because it is filled to the brim with non-stop, toe-tapping, edge-of-your-seat musical action. After all, they are taking their "best" songs and sticking them on one album with a ton of extras!

But the singles from this period truly were great. I think in their earlier years their regular albums overall were better as a whole, but their singles from this period were better. I mean, who can't resist jumping up and down to smash hits like "How Much is the Fish?" or "Aiii Shot the DJ"?

CD 1:
The first of these two fat CD's includes all the singles and the b-sides of those singles. The singles themselves are incredible, my personal favorites being "How Much is the Fish?" "Call Me Mañana" and "I'm Your Pusher". Others that are very popular include "Faster Harder Scooter", "F*ck The Millenium", and "Ramp! (The Logical Song)".

The b-sides are equally impressive, and I think many are unaware of these hidden treasures. They are obscure because most people don't buy all of the individual singles, which is the only other place you can buy them. They may seem strange in comparison to the other songs, but musically they are pretty great tracks. My advice for listening to Scooter's b-sides is just to accept the fact that they're more "electronic" rather than "hardcore techno/trance" and you'll enjoy them better. Particularly entertaining are "Sputnik", the hypnotic "Firth of Forth", melancholy "Monolake", and my personal favorite - "Bramfeld", for its sheer fast-paced, dissonant, yet highly addictive sound.

CD 2:
Alright, I have to admit, disc 2 isn't as good as disc 1, but I have valid reasons. First of all there are several remixes and live versions of some of the singles, and they are kind of redundant. While there are some interesting changes from song to song, it's really just more of the same stuff from disc 1. That being said, the Airscape mix of "I'm Your Pusher" is excellent, and the live version of "How Much is the Fish" makes you really wish you could have been at the concert at which it was recorded.

In addition to these remixes/live versions, there are four new tracks that had been previously unreleased. The first, "Habanera [Big Room Mix]" is, of course, a techno version of the aria Habanera from Georges Bizet's legendary opera Carmen. "No Pain, No Gain" is one of Scooter's best instrumental trance songs ever, combining a fat melody with a fast pulse. "Loud and Clear" is OK, with H.P. Baxxter doing his usual thing, but it sounds too much like Faster Harder Scooter. My favorite of the four is "Am Fenster" - the only Scooter song entirely in German with an amazing electric violin solo.

So, now that you've read the scoop, I recommend this as a must for all techno lovers. If you're into a broad range of techno and only know a little about Scooter, I recommend buying this just so that you have at least one Scooter album in your collection (because if you were to have at least one album, I think most would agree this is the most all-encompassing). And if you're a hardcore Scooter fan, to not own this album is a cardinal sin.

If you're new to Scooter but want to become a true fan I would suggest trying "Rough and Tough and Dangerous" to hear a compilation of their earliest work before listening to this. The nice thing about their compilations is that you get a taste of all their best stuff without having to waste money buying every one of their regular albums and singles. That's what I did, and I nearly lost all of my money trying to buy every Scooter song ever written (until I discovered file-sharing, of course).

If you are completely new to all electronica or dance, I would recommend buying this album first. Scooter really does put all other techno/trance bands to shame, and if this is your first techno/trance album you listen to, you will get a true taste of what good dance music sounds like, with a huge variety of music among the album. Very few other groups can compare with Scooter (especially since very few other groups have an M.C. trying to be a white German rapper in most of the songs). Of course the downside of this is that when you start listening to other groups, you will probably be let down somewhat.

This is one of my favorite albums of all time. It's a bit like "Kind of Blue" - even though it's from a specific genre, it is loved by all for its musical greatness. No matter how you look at it, "Push the Beat for This Jam" is a paramount work - a colossal set of great art all culminating in 2 CDs. Even though Amazon's price for it is outrageous, it's definitely worth it - I recommend it to everyone in the world!

since it has many songs from the past albums i think its really great. it includes Ramp! (the logical song) which is also available as a single. also look at Nessaja if u like Ramp.
