5.0 out of 5 stars garbage kick it hard with "Lick The Pavement"
Shirley Manson is in full-on dominatrix mode as she and the boys spank out this bonus track, which is as short and nasty as a lash from Mistress Manson's whip. Similar in theme to such previous tunes as "Supervixen" and "Trip My Wire," the song chugs along in an irresistibly danceable groove as Shirley barks and sneers. "Won't you lick the...

3.0 out of 5 stars Good Garbage Singles ** Push It - Great Song
I bought this cd because I love single and remixed tracks. Garbage was one of the best electronic / alternative bands of the mid 90's. I could not stop playing their cd.

This single however has three tracks. The original is good, but you could buy the full album to get that or a download even.

The Second track is Thirteen. A slow track with...

This single however has three tracks. The original is good, but you could buy the full album to get that or a download even.

The Second track is Thirteen. A slow track with great vocals from Shirley Manson, but not really what I have come to expect from some of their better hits. Push It; Happy when it Rains, etc.

Similar in theme to such previous tunes as "Supervixen" and "Trip My Wire," the song chugs along in an irresistibly danceable groove as Shirley barks and sneers. "Won't you lick the pavement for me?" she asks with a wicked grin, adding, "I like you best when you're on your knees." Consensual humiliation never sounded so good.

5.0 out of 5 stars Garbage turn in another excellent b-side with "Thirteen", February 15, 1999
This review is from: Push It / Thirteen (Audio CD)
Garbage take another trip to the Land of True Love previously visited in "Milk" and "#1 Crush" with this dreamy Big Star cover. Frontwoman and sex kitten Shirley Manson doesn't so much sing as purr, moan, and sigh. "Won't you let me walk you home from school?" she coos suggestively as the music ambles along behind her at an easy pace, like young lovers taking a moonlit stroll around a lake. The song moves swiftly from starry-eyed sweetness to us-against-them intimacy to heart-stabbing doubt. "If it's so, then let me know," Manson pleads, "If it's no, well, I can go." Guaranteed to drive the teenage crowd crazy from the heat.

5.0 out of 5 stars "Won't let me walk you home from school...", April 5, 2008
This review is from: Push It (Audio CD)
Push It by Garbage is the coolest single released from Version 2.0 but the real magic in this import is the unreleased track, Thirteen. In my opinion, this is Garbage's best and prettiest b-side. It's a great cover but Garbage puts a special twist on this much-loved classic. I love this band to pieces!

4.0 out of 5 stars PUSH IT PUSHES GARBAGE ALL THE WAY TO THE TOP, December 13, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Push It (Audio CD)
After the succes of their first album 'garbage', these days named version 1.0, garbage are finally back with a new album, version 2.0. The first single, 'push it' is exactly the type of song that you d'expect from garbage:lots of energy, powerfull and ofcourse the brilliant voice of Shirley that like some one is whispering in you're ear. The pre-chorus reminds me a bit to a David Bowie song but i guess the rest is just, like they like to call it, powerrock. Fine single and exelent B-sides

If you like Garbage but just can't get the whole CD, you can still have the pleasure of them with this single! The new song "Push it" and the b-side "Thirteen", it's the bomb. It also includes a remix of "Push it", and it's really great too. This is crazy, Shirley is too wonderful! And the boys too! Rock on!

5.0 out of 5 stars I love this song...hi, shirley, May 14, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Push It / Thirteen (Audio CD)
Is there no shortage to great songs? Not when Shirley Manson is singing. I usually don't buy singles, but I was convinced to buy this one. Man, am I glad I did! Okay, the only problem I had with it was the third song, the remix of "Push It". That just wasn't my thing. Other than that, ANOTHER GREAT JOB, SHIRLEY! LOVE YA!

EVERYTHING BY GARBAGE IS GOOD BUT THIS SINGLE IS GREAT. BUTCH VIG & BAND {INCLUDING THE DAUGHTER OF CHARLES & MARILYN MANSON} ARE IN TOP FORM HERE. UNLESS YOU WANT TO SPEND BIG BUCKS ON THE IMPORT, THIS IS THE ABOUT THE ONLY PLACE TO GET "13". "BIG STAR"S ALEX CHILTON WROTE THIS BACK IN THE 70'S BUT GARBAGE MAKES IT GREAT AS THE ONLY COVER SONG THEY HAVE DONE. IF YOU WANT ALL THEIR B-SIDES WITHOUT PAYING A FORTUNE FOR THE SINGLES OR IMPORTS KEEP AN EYE OUT FOR A CD CALLED "THE G SIDES". IT HAS SOME OF THE RE-MIXES FROM THE FIRST 2 CDS + ALL THE B-SIDES. TOGETHER WITH THE DOMESTIC VERSIONS OF THE FIRST 2 ALBUMS IT PUTS ALMOST EVERYTHING ON 3 PLATTERS.
