5.0 out of 5 stars Euro at it's best
Scooter offers what only a few have been able to synthicate. There is no that a person can compare Scooter with anything else. With such tracks as Nessaja, Posse..., I shot the dj, and many more, this cd delivers Scooter at its best. All of the songs on this cd are backed up with many requests on radio stations and hundreds of requests to Scooter. Possibly the best...

2.0 out of 5 stars The best of? Not really.
This album doesn't offer "The best of Scooter" Only the best after 1998. All the previous singles like "Move your Ass" "Back In the UK" "Fire" and "The Age of Love" are not present here. It's a allright album for starters but personally I think that the music they made from 1994-1999 was the best and many of those songs are not here, while lots of newer one's that doesn't...

5.0 out of 5 stars Can't Help but Dance, September 3, 2004
This review is from: Pushing the Beat: The Best of Scooter (Audio CD)
This is one of the best techno albums i have, becuase it sounds differnet than the other techno CDs i own. Scooter is a German techno band, two djs and one singer, that are simply genius at making catchy hooks, and energetic lyrics to get you at least tapping your feet to the infectious chorus.
Some of my favorite tracks are 1 Nessaja,2 Posse,3 I shot the Sheriff, and the hidden track 18 (Logical Song)and 15 Loud and Clear. Even though tracks 1,2,3,18 might sound like they have the chessy female vocals on it, it really becomes more of another of instument, instead of an angelic voice that you might associate with trance. The other tracks continue to have lyrics up till about track 11, then it goes instrumental for the rest of the album, untill the bonus track. The instrumental tracks are alright, i usually skip them till track 15, my favorite of them. If you like any opera music track 13 samples Mozart Fledermaus (Bat) replicating it through use of synth of course.
Overall i really like this ablum, and it really stands out among my other trance albums as very unique and different sounding. I recommend it.

Scooter is Dance Music at its best. It is great Happy Hardcore Style music with catchy lyrics. I really wants to make you jump up and dance. If you like the Happy 2B Hardcore Series or Euro-Dance than you will LOVE Scooter. I am a DJ myself and I HIGHLY recomend it to anybody that wants to feel like dancing.

First of all I would like to thank Scooter for their great pure hard core sound. It's something that I have been looking for a long time. It's filled with unmeaningful lyrics that just seem to make the songs all better. I love it!! Ramp, nessaja, i shot the dj, how much is the fish, and the others are a must have in your music collection!! I highly reccomend it to everyone that enjoys to be the one with the cool beats comin' out of their speakers.

I really would like to give this CD five stars but unfortunately it is missing some of the older songs that were good songs such as Hyper Hyper. All around a good CD though.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is a darned good CD, September 5, 2003
This review is from: Pushing the Beat: The Best of Scooter (Audio CD)
I kind of wish that there was a 4.5 star option, because this CD would get that. My difficulty is that half the CD is just great, pretty much flawless electronica/dance. The other half just doesn't do much for me. However, the half that I like is worth better than a 4 star rating. It's a good band, great music, and if you like this style of music, you won't be disappointed in this CD.

Matt

I adore Scooter, it's incredibly upbeat and energizing. It's my coffee in the morning on the way to work. The MC talks through a lot of the songs, which I really love. If you like High energy trance then this is perfect for you!

5.0 out of 5 stars They started in 1994 and they're still on the case!, July 7, 2004

When you think dance, you should think Scooter. No exceptions. From 1994 till the present, they've been a constant powerhouse in the techno scene. And this CD does a great job of showing off their greatest hits.

"Pushing the Beat" is the US Edit for the CD "Push The Beat For This Jam" which was released in Europe. The CD features hits from the "second chapter". The second chapter is the time-period where Scooter was with their second keyboardist, Axel Coon, along with all-time members H.P. Baxxter and Rick J. Jordan. However, this chapter ended with the song "Nessaja" which is actually not made with Axel but with Scooter's 3rd keyboardist Jay Frog.

Fom "Nessaja" to "How Much is the Fish?", Scooter's most popular beats keep coming harder than ever. Classics like "Posse! I Need You on the Floor!" make this CD an absolute masterpiece. After "How Much is the Floor" comes some brand news tracks from the Scooter crew. "Greatest Beats" and "New Years Day" come from the tracks "We Are The Greatest" and "F*ck the Millenium".

One of the tracks entitled "Sunrise (Ratty's Inferno)" has a story behind it. In Europe, many DJs see Scooter as a joke unforunately. Scooter saw this and made up another artist called Ratty. Under this artist name, they released the track "Sunrise (Here I Am)", one of the greatest songs ever. Seriously. The song became instantly popular and people wondered who this group was. When the music video was shown for the song, three rats were shown. Three Rats = Three Members of Scooter. There is no doubt this is Scooter, but few still refuse to believe it. Many still own the song with no idea it's Scooter. This song is the Instrumental Edit for the song and is still as great as the original.

The hits continue with great songs like "Habanera" and "Loud and Clear". The hidden track turns out to be one of the best songs Scooter ever made. The track is "Ramp! The Logical Song", a cover of Supertramp's classic. Listen. You'll love it. Guaranteed.

This CD is a masterpiece. And since this is the only Scooter album you can find here in the States, go and experience the greatness that is Scooter.

4.0 out of 5 stars good compilation, October 3, 2002
This review is from: Pushing the Beat: The Best of Scooter (Audio CD)
If you've already own a Scooter album, I would not bother getting this. I think in every Scooter album there's at least one song which really "rocks"--I am your pusher and How much is the fish are some examples. However, I think, all their songs sound the same, more or less. If you are looking for your first Scooter album definitely get this. If you are not familiar with Scooter, I would describe it as high energy, 170BPM, German-techno with cheesy lyrics. For some reason, they just make really fun music to listen to. They're neither inventive, experimental nor that talented. But they know how to captivate the listener with the using high and low tempo contrast in their songs (making them almost anthem-like).
