maan this album is one of da best so far in 2001.... if u dont know lil jon & eastside boys they are more like crunk rappers such as hardcore rap to bounce... da best tracks in this album are bia bia remix, move bitc*, uhh ohh..but da whole album is tight it features such artist as three six mafia, ludacris, too short,etc..it also features a female rapper named Chyna...

i am a fan of hip hop. this is not hip hop. this is just a buncha garbage that could've been though up by anyone. not only does it sound terrible, but its the least origional thing ive ever heard and has no talent whatsoever put into it. making music is a great thing. this is an abuse o that art. i have no bias against dirty south hip hop...although im into east coast...

1.0 out of 5 stars You eatin off hip hop and I hope you choke onthe gimmick!!!!!!!!, July 24, 2006

When are we gonna start boycotting this bubble gum pop bull S%%T! Lil john is one of the worst emtertainers on this earth. His flow is rough and terrible and he wastes beats on a regular basis. I guess all of the zombies and sheep won't appreciate me dissing this retarded muppet but someone has to stand up and say something. This album is a just like a vicious string of herpes infecting the youth of many nations. We need some hip hop penicillin like KRS ONE, Mos Def, and kweli

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Album, October 27, 2005
This review is from: Put Yo Hood Up (Audio CD)
This album is a great start for BME Enterprises/TVT Records. Like all Lil Jon & the East Side Boyz albums, this one is filled with many guest appearances. Khujo of the Goodie Mob, Bo Hagon, Ludacris, Too $hort (underrated), Chyna Whyte, Big Kap, Quint Black & the Nation Riders, Three 6 Mafia, YoungBloodZ, Gangsta Boo, Don Yute, M.O.P., 8-Ball, MJG, Oobie, Sky, Kilo Ali, & Jazze Pha. This means a good album.

Here's a track by track run-down.

1)Yall Ain't Ready (intro) - (n/a) - Nothin too special.

2)Uhh Ohh (featuring Khujo of the Goodie Mob & Bo Hagon) - (10/10) - Good track to start off the album. It has a good beat and hook by Bo Hagon. Everyone drops good verses and I'm not dissapointed.

3)Put Yo Hood Up - (9/10) - Everyone's heard it. It's got a great beat and hook. The only problem is there's no rapping on this song.

4)Bia Bia - (11/10) - 2nd straight single in a row. The beat is great and the hook gets your adrenaline pumpin. Ludacris, Chyna Whyte, & $hort Dogg (Too $hort) drop great verses on the Lil Jon beat. It's perfect.

5)Bia Bia Check-In (skit) - (n/a) - Boring.

6)Who U Wit - (6/10) - Dumb song with an actual dumb Lil Jon beat.

7)Let My N**ts Go (featuring Too $hort, Quint Black, & the Nation Riders) - (10/10) - Great song with a laid back beat. Too $hort, Quint Black, & the Nation Riders drop great verses to go along with the hook. Lil Jon has a more upbeat verse that makes the song that much better.

8)Move B***h (featuring Three 6 Mafia, Gangsta Boo, YoungBloodZ, Chyna Whyte, & Don Yute) - (10/10) - Everyone drops amazing verses to go along with the great part of Lil Jon's hook. You already know it's gonna be good with these guests.

9)Heads Off (My N****s)(featuring M.O.P.) - (12/10) - The Best track on the album. The intro is one of the best I've heard and gets you pumped up for the rest of the song. M.O.P. drops great verses on a great beat. I can listen to this song over & over & over...

10)Sexlude (skit) - (n/a) - Pretty funny.

11)Can't Stop Pimpin (featuring 8-Ball, MJG, & Oobie) - (10/10) - At first, I didn't like this song and I don't know why. Now, I love it. 8-Ball & MJG drop good verses and a great hook and singing by Oobie (surprise). Listen to it again if you don't like it at first.

12)Bounce Dat (featuring Chyna Whyte) - (8/10) - Nothin too special. The beat is good but it can get very boring.

13)Nothin's Free (featuring Oobie) - (8/10) - Okay song but it just seems worse when Lil Jon puts it on Kings of Crunk as well as Put Yo Hood Up.

14)Searcylude (skit) - (n/a) - Dumb. Pointless.

15)Where Dem Girlz At (featuring Sky) - (9/10) - This song has a good beat that's similar to the one of Uhh Ohh (track #2). The hook is good and I like it.

16)I Like Dem Girlz (featuring Jazze Pha) - (8/10) - The best part about this song is that you can follow along with Lil Jon's verses and hear what he likes about dem girlz. Jazze Pha doesn't add much to the track.

17)Nasty Girl (featuring Oobie) - (7/10) - Probably one of the worst song on the album. It gets really boring after the first listen.

18)DJ Hershey Live At The Blue Flamelude (skit) - (n/a) - OK skit.

19)Go Shawty Go (featuring Kilo Ali) - (9/10) - The beat is good and you can follow along with the hook. It's a solid track.

20)Outro Chynalude (featuring Chyna Whyte) - (8/10) - It's a skit turned into a normal song. Chyna Whyte drops some of her best rhymes but it's only 2:23 long.

21)Bia Bia 2 (featuring Too $hort & Chyna Whyte) - (10/10) - It's got the same beat as the first one. In fact, it's pretty much the same song. The only difference is Ludacris isn't featured and doesn't have a verse, there isn't an intro like the first one did, & Too $hort, Lil Jon, & Chyna Whyte have different verses. It's still a great track.

Top 10 (not in order):

1)Heads Off (My N****s)

2)Bia Bia

3)Move B***h

4)Let My N**s Go

5)Bia Bia 2

6)Put Yo Hood Up

7)Can't Stop Pimpin

8)Uhh Ohh

9)Where Dem Girlz At

10)I Like Dem Girlz

3.0 out of 5 stars GUILTY PLEASURE, December 12, 2001
This review is from: Put Yo Hood Up (Audio CD)
Being a open-minded and very diverse music fanatic sometimes opens me to music that may not fit my personailty but I enjoy anyway.
This explains Lil' Jon and the Eastside Boys.
My crazy friend Andy let me borrow me it and I was exposed
to something that,as I said,wasn't my personailty,yet I enjoyed
it.
Now,let me get some things across:I know my hip hop,I once
lived in Atlanta(where I got exposed to a lot of dirty rap
and booty-shaking bass music-which I loved as well),and Lil' Jon's "Bia Bia" was one of the songs that got stuck in my head
the most this year.
But honestly,crunk-hop wasn't something that I was eager
to listen to,recently. But they may be changing ever since
I listened to Lil' Jon's new album,"Put Yo' Hood Up".
Of course my song "Bia Bia" gets a warm reception(the album
version is better arranged and just better-sounding than the
video version). But the busy title track and "Who U Wit" are
among my other favorites as well as the dirty "Let My N**ts Go"
(featuring the always wholesome Too Short-that was meant to be
sarcastic).
Southern rap may be booming right now. With artists as
diverse as the artsy OutKast to the frantic Mystikal and Petey
Pablo to the comical Ludacris, the Dirty South is the new
hip hop mecca. And Lil' Jon is a just another intresting
face in the multi-facted South.

4.0 out of 5 stars Definitely Crunked Up, June 18, 2001
By
C-Bock (Nashville, TN) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Put Yo Hood Up (Audio CD)
This album is definitely crunked up as lil john and his boys bring some tight beats. The first four tracks on the cd really got me going. lil john's lyrics are no better than average, though, but the beats will get u hyped up. guest appearances by too short, eightball, 3-six mafia, and ludacris add in much needed lyrical support.

1.0 out of 5 stars Awful, August 15, 2011
By
I do not mind some of Iil Jon's songs but this one is awful. And that album cover? Are you kidding me? Watch me burn a black pride flag and the NAACP would be all over me. You burn a confederate flag and its cool? A lot of people died for that flag for reasons ignorant idiots like Lil Jon and the East Side Boyz would never understand. What a scumbag. Have some respect for other cultures and do some research before you go burning flags.

1.0 out of 5 stars Here comes the black plague for hip hop!, March 29, 2009
This review is from: Put Yo Hood Up (Audio CD)
This is to lil jon, Crunk does not fit into any genre of music period! Please stop bitting off hip hop,to pass off your crap! How can people call it talent when you yell out a few phrases:What,Yeah,Okay,etc....?Lets not go there about the meaning or the message behind his crap. The beats are plain and annoying.

Thanks to this buffoon, whose not that important anymore in the year 2009,we have retards doing the same crap that he started.LOL... Kinda sad, that lil jon thought Dave Chappelle was making a friendly joke about him in actuality, Dave was making fun of him of how much of a dumbass he is.

P.S Don't support this scumbag called Lil Jon!

1.0 out of 5 stars WTF?, January 9, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Put Yo Hood Up (Audio CD)
I cannot explain how appalled I was while listening to this dribble. This is quite possibly the worst album I have heard in a long time. It is basically a little over an hour of screaming about absolutely nothing. The fact that all these no-talent fools do is yell out nonsense lyrics ON EVERY SINGLE SONG not only make this group atrocious but annoying. They would actually have to make improvements for me to call them amatuerish. The irony is with all the head-splitting yelling, you are actually bored to death because all they do is repeat themselves and seemingly say any explicit random thought that comes to mind. Please do not buy this album, so hopefully these idiots go away sooner than later.
