This review is from: Put Me In, Coach: Confessions of a Football Wife (Hardcover)
Don't expect to start this book and stop reading. Barbara Dooley is funny and forthright and provides a true insider's take on what it's like to be married to a football coach. The anecdotes are rich in detail, and she reveals a side of Vince Dooley not likely known to anyone outside the inner circle. She also is an accomplished woman in her own right well beyond being a football wife and mother.

Barbara Dooley has presented the very real experience of countless women, not just coach's wives, in the authentic way that only she could. I couldn't put this book down until I finished it. And I came away moved by her lessons learned and impressed with her openness and willingness to share them through her very personal life experiences. Barbara could have just ridden the coattails of her successful husband, but she insisted on creating an identity of her own, even during a time when it wasn't the way of most women. She is an inspiration to any woman who will take the time to read her story and listen to her speak, which she continues to do at the age of 71 with a daily talk radio show. I can only hope to be as resilient as she! Read her story and learn some invaluable lessons about the universal truths of self-leadership.

This is one of the best books Ive ever read. Its hilarious! Barbara Dooley has one of the best personalities Ive ever come across and she tells the stories of being Coach Vince Dooley's wife with all the personality she has! This book should be read by every GEORGIA BULLDOG fan and now that their son Derek is the head football coach at Tennessee, it should be read by every TENNESSEE VOLUNTEER fan!

A book for the coach's wife,
This review is from: Put Me In, Coach: Confessions of a Football Wife (Hardcover)
This is a great book that recalls the real life stories of Barbara Dooley and her husband and coach! There were so many parts of the book that I laughed out loud thinking, "this is so true in the world of coaches' wives!"
