The above title is in no way meant to demean Nesby's latest effort. If anything, it is to imply the greatness of the release. For the listener, "Put It On Paper" equals anything done by the Queen of Soul.

Nesby and a bevy of producers have presented a disc that is contemporary R &B while maintaining the integrity of the artist's gospel roots.

Kicking off the set with sultry "Seasons," the singer follows that track with the reflective "She Can't Love You." This particular cut should resonate with all ladies that have had to deal with "the other woman." Backed by a superbly arranged chorus, Nesby's voice has never sounded stronger.

Next up (following a short "interlude") comes the title cut, a current radio favorite featuring none other than The Reverend Al Green. These two are, forgive the cliché, "a match made in Heaven." Only he can match the singer's passion and strength.

Track number five, "Tonight's the Night" is a hip-hop ditty with rap by "Big Mike." With proper promotion, the song should garner a youthful following.

"I Can't Get Over You," "You Always Cared,"and "Where Would I Be" are uniquely different lyrically but Nesby's intensity is the stuff that makes them so cohesively like one.

The Sounds of Blackness, Nesby's former recording partners, is on hand to accompany the singer on the inspirational "I'm Your Friend."

Ready for Mother's Day is "Advice," a duet with Jamecia Bennett. There are not enough adjectives to describe how wondrous this composition is.

To call any cuts "weak" is to be unfair. But, the remaining songs ("Lovin' Is Really My Game," "Let Your Will Be Done," and "Love Is What You Need"), released earlier in their original forms and dance remixes on "Love is What We Need (The Dance Essentials)," work for their intended audience: the dance club crew. However, if her record label is trying to market Nesby as a "disco diva," it is truly in error.

Such a powerhouse vocalist does not deserve to be "categorized" in one musical genre.

The lady can do them all!!!

Amazing vocal ballet, superb songs, flawless engineering..thats Sounds Of Blackness's Ann Nesby's "Put it on Paper". Nothing more to add thats gonna make it any different from that of other reviewers' who obviously know what they're talking about. I just wished she had more up-tempo stuff to balance out the CD. Go git' this now, you'll love it.

Ladies and gentlemen, Ann Nesby has entered the room. Roll out the carpet and hand this sista a mike, because she's about to bring the house down again! Her dynamite new album, "Put It On Paper," is a winning mix of r&b, house, and gospel that makes Nesby as much a lady of soul as her high-profile contemporaries. The heart of the album is the sizzling title track which is a duet with the legendary Al Green. The chemistry these two singers bring to the table must be witnessed to be believed, and they compliment each other nicely. Her producers, which include house meister Steve "Silk" Hurley, Jam and Lewis, and Mousse T, give Nesby's songs the muscle her voice demands. Uplifting, positive, and affirming, "Put it On Paper" isn't to be ignored or slept-on.

The song stylings of Mr. Al Green was the LAST "current" music I purchased, back in the 1970's. The only music my husband and I buy now is old school 60's, 70's, 80's and some 90's (If it's old school) jazz and 60's rhythm and blues tunes.

We heard Ann Nesby and Al Green singing "Put It On Paper" day before yesterday and we thought it was Aretha Franklin and Al Green doing a duet from the 1960's. We couldn't figure out how it was that we had never heard this cut before. I went out and bought this CD yesterday. I had to because their duet rocked our musical world. We play it over and over because this is the baddest cut to have come out in decades. Stomp down rhythm and blues at its finest. These two artists can sing (some of today's artists should listen to this cut and take serious notes) and must record together again.

Ms. Ann, Mr. Green, we ARE talking GRAMMY here! ...

This CD is the truth. Three tracks tell it all. "I Can't Get Over You", "She Can't Love You" and "Where Would I Be" fully explain the beauty that this woman presents with her voice and presence. On "I Can't Get Over You" listen to the vocal range she gives. Only a real pro can do what she did on that song. No Ashanti or Destiny's Child can do that. Buy the CD and automatically tune it to the song and you'll understand. As for "Where Would I Be", it is trully a blessed song. Very uplifiting and fulfilling. It's a testament to all of our lives. Last but not least "She Can't Love You". You just feel this song. She sings it like she means it. The rest of the CD was pretty good and the duet with Al Green was tight as well. BUY THE CD if not only for the three songs that I told you about.

Pretty good album. I really enjoyed the track "Put it on Paper" feat. Al Green. There is truth and power in this song. The other songs were good too. I would say that this is a good buy!

I have always enjoyed the richness of her voice. She reminds me of Mahalia Jackson. When they sing , they own the song. If she had better song selection, this lady would own the airways. I will continue to listen to songs on the albulm that I enjoy on the album.

This album covers almost every element of R&B, Soul, Dance & Contemporary Gospel ALL in one nice package. The main Attention-Getter is the Duet with Al Green: "Put It On Paper". Also included is a real nice remake of: "Lovin' Is Really My Game". Another strong track is the wake-up call for the youth of today: "Advise". As I have said in the past....Ann Nesby is gonna get better...And better! This release proves it!!!
