Product Description

Putco LED stick bulbs are simple to install and replace stock bulbs. They are 18X brighter than factory lighting with 100 lumen LED's. Their super-low voltage consumption makes for a long life exceeding 50,000 hours. The B-Type Bulbs have 360 degree light projection, while the T-Type Bulbs have single point projection. Today's hottest lighting trend in the automotive industry is LED's. LED bulbs produce a brighter, cleaner and more attractive light than factory incandescent bulbs.

This has to be the best LED I've found for an car. I've played with many of them and none spread the light quite as well. I was worried there would be a dark spot in the center since the LED's shine out but it spreads light better than a 194LL bulb.

The one thing I'd like to know is exactly how much power this uses but I haven't been able to find that anywhere.

I used them in a '03 Silverado for the brake light and fender marker lights (VHT Niteshade covered) and they work so much better than an incandescent.

I would recommend these to anyone looking to replace a light in a red housing.

My recently acquired '99 Honda Civic has aftermarket tail light lenses of the clear clear "Euro" type, which I think look pretty awesome against the silver paint job. What I hadn't realized is that when lit up, there was precious little redness in there to resemble brake and running lights... until the other night when I got pulled over by a cop for non-compliant tail lights. Checking it out for myself I could see that any traffic behind me was subject to mostly white light. Not good. So to start I opened the trunk lid and quickly removed the bulbs for the running lights. I discovered that they were mini 914 wedge bulbs. One bulb was red and the other orange. They both looked new; but even the red one was not capable of producing enough saturation of redness to fill the lens reflector. With that bulb installed, the lens glowed an anemic pink with a white hot spot at the bulb.

I began to wonder if any bulbs would actually work with my clear lenses. I did some research and came across LED technology. And I found that there are configurations with clusters of multiple small LEDs that would simulate the 360 pattern of an incandescent bulb. I "red" enough reviews to know that LEDs were my solution.

So I listed my final criteria to settle on. I figured they must:
1) fit the #914 wedge base form factor
2) be as bright or brighter than stock
3) be capable of producing red light at least as brilliant and saturated as the stock effect from the red plastic lens
4) be capable of producing 360 degree pattern of light that would fill the entire silver reflector surface in the back of the lens. Note that some configurations have only one LED pointing toward the eye & none toward the reflector, which makes a very bright but very tiny overall effect.

Fits well, really nice bright color, even distribution and all. Even dimming before turning off is a nice touch, great all in all.

Used in my Jeep to replace original dome light bulbs. These put out such a low light level that I had to go back to the original bulbs.

The pair fit my overhead dome light in my 2013 Jeep JKU. Don't hesitate to purchase if you're trying to change your dome light to an LED.
