This review is from: Putco 400860 Tail Light Cover (Misc.)
I will start off by saying that this item comes as a PAIR. It was not listed in the text as such, but I assumed correctly that it would be. These are really well made. I love the fit. The only critical comments I have is that the shape of the cover makes it come a bit close to the hatch. Position carefully when applying. The second criticism is the lack of specific installation instructions. It studied my trim peices for some time to come up with a 'plan' that I will relay here:
The best way to install these (they fit under the black roof ridge trim) is to start with pulling the lights from the car. This is covered in your owners manual. Test fit your covers to get a feel of how they squeeze over the lens. They might appear to not sit on the lens, but they are molded VERY well. They fit the contour perfectly when lined up right and pressed onto the lens. After fitting, clean the lenses really well with a final wipedown of rubbing alchohol. While the lenses are drying, peel off the backing from the adhesive strips at the top of the cover. I left the long side peices and the bottom peices alone, these will be peeled later. Carefully fit the top onto the lense noting how the cover fits down each side. You have to work precisely as this adhesive really stick upon first contact. Get the sides lined up with the lense and squeeze down on the top to set it into place and hold it for a minute. Then you can use the little plastic knife supplied in the kit to work the backing off the side adhesive strips and attach the sides and bottom last. Like I said, I studied and test fit mine before installing and they came out AWESOME! I love these!!!!!
