4.0 out of 5 stars Flapper Costume of the Roaring 20's
The dress was very comfortable, there was a problem with the finishing on the hem. 1/4 inch left open. Other than that the dress was nice I would try the company again.

While I was pleased with the quality of the materials used in the costume, I had to make several adjustments to make the costume look nice. Although the black stretch velvet material was of good quality, the right and left sides of the bodice were not cut the same. This made the entire costume twist to the left. Where the skirt met the sequin insert stuck out like an outie belly button. Fortunately, I sew and was able to correct the outie. I also worked with the bodice to stabilize the twist, although I wasn't able to completely fix that. I added some black sequin trim around the neckline, helping to stabilize it, and adding to the dress's sparkle. Perhaps this was just a problem with this individual costume. In addition to the fixes I had to make, I also sewed down the seam where the skirt is attached to the top, which allowed the seam to lay down flat and not stick out as it did even after pressing the seam. I ordered the XL size since I wear a size 16. It was the correct choice. This costume style is a flattering fit. I think that if I hadn't been able to make the adjustments I did, I would have given this costume even a lower rating. If the costume had not needed the fixes, I would have given it a 5, but could only give it a 3 due to the extra work involved in fixing it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good for all theme parties, October 10, 2010

This costume is nice for a Halloween costume. You cannot buy it with designer quality in mind. When I got the costume, like all costumes, there was a little bit of threads peeking out, I simply got manicure scissors and snipped them right off. Good as new! Now, word of warning, this costume is big. I read this is prior reviews and still ordered a L, which is what I usually wear in costumes, this was WAYYYY to big for me, which I was very surprised to see. A medium would have fit better but the L was ok....I simply pinned the back and made a few ruffles for drama and it looked fine. If you are good at sewing you can easily see the seams and redo the costume, it is not that complicated of a design. But if you are looking to immerse yourself in the 20's this is definitely the outfit for you. I even won best dressed! It is also very comfortable, the heat didn't even bother me and I live in a HOT state!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Roaring 20's Costume, March 28, 2011

I wore this costume to a murder mystery party. It was a hit. The only things I would mention besides that the costume was well made, is that it is quite short in the center front area (so I pinned the gold fabric together inconspicuously in the center.) I am 5'7" so if you are shorter, this may not be an issue. Also, the gold fabric was pretty wrinkled from being in the package, I sprayed it with Downy wrinkle releaser and put it in the dryer, but they really never came out.

Above all, I do recommend this costume.

My wife needed a costume for a themed dinner we attended and this fit the bill. It is a decent costume, not a long term or heavy duty replica, but a very decent costume. For the price it is a good buy. Delivery was quick and all pieces were present.
