It's a gold mine.,

This books is a gold mine. It's a great source of creative solutions to common work problems. But it also helps at home. The personality quiz is a hoot! I loved it! I gave it to my mom and a new friend -- it's a great ice-breaker. In both cases the quiz results became a way for me to talk about issues that were on my mind. And based on Cleland's vocabulary suggesions, I was able to get my points across in a way that they were able to hear. Thank you, Jane.

THE book -- How did I live without this??,
This review is from: Putting First What Matters Most: Proven Strategies for Success in Work and in Life (Paperback)
Because I like books of this nature and read many of them, I'm very familiar with the subject matter. So I know where of I speak when I say that this book is different from the rest. All I can say is -- Wow! This is THE BEST book on the subject I've ever read. Practical ideas that I was able to put to use right away. Amazing stuff.

I didn't gain anything of value from this book. The personality test was so off-base that the description of my "type" was just about the opposite of who I am. Therefore the advice for each type was not only simplistic - it was useless. Most of the work suggestions are irrelevant to the self-employed who aren't part of an organization or anyone who doesn't have co-workers. And the time-management advice was just a rehash of some of the principles from other books, such as Stephen Covey's. This book might be valuable to people who've never taken a step toward clarifying priorities or time management, and who work in an organization in which they're continually negotiating work issues with others, but I didn't gain any insight whatsoever from it, and found it a complete waste of time.
