This review is from: Putting Patients First: Designing and Practicing Patient-Centered Care (J-B AHA Press) (Hardcover)
This book is a thorough discussion of a highly successful philosophy of patient-centered care promoted and fine tuned by the Planetree Institute. It challenges a healthcare industry that is behind others in its lack of focus on the delivery of patient-centric care. It covers subjects from the nurturing aspects of food, recruitment and retention, and making a business case for patient centered care.

Tried and true strategies for patient satisfaction repeats itself,

The Planetree Model has been around for several years, but I have yet to experience it first hand. Patient-centered care should always be a priority and not in competition with the fiscal responsibilities of an organization. I was mostly interested in inpatient settings, but found the other topics interesting.
