This is an excellent compilation of Christmas songs selected from a blend of various types of music that definitely accomplishes the Putumayo mission. That being to join the traditional with contemporary to create products which people love. The cover also indicates that portions of the proceeds go to help homeless children.

Putumayo is still making Christmas (NOT 'holiday' or 'winter') albums;they will be releasing a New Orleans-themed one this year.This is a wonderful Christmas album,very peaceful and comforting.Among the highlights are the whimsical 'Soca Santa',the nuevo flamenco of Ottmar Liebert,the Celtic Loreena McKennitt,blues from Otis Redding,and Mason Williams' "Virgin Mary."This is a fun album,perfect for the season! |
