I have personally loved Putumayo since their inception over 15 years ago. In fact, one of my own goals in life is to own absolutely EVERY CD or collection they have ever made and I am well on my way to doing just that. This digital sampler is no exception. The music is upbeat and if you are new to Putumayo World Music, please by all means take a listen. My own favourite piece on this collection is "Clash Dans Le Tempo" by Constance Amiot. The guitar work is wonderful, upbeat and has an almost Sarah McLachlan feel to it. This is a great way to get introduced to the realm of Putumayo World Music.

My only complaint, and I do confess it won't matter much to most people, is that Putumayo world music CD's are sheer liner note heaven. Within each collection, there is always detailed information about the artists, the cultures they come fromm even recipes and all sorts of interesting tidbits. Those sorts of things makes every Putumayo collection an experience. It would have been great to have a download of those notes to this album, too. However, I realise that isn't so important to everyone.

Wonderful middle-of-the road selections. Very ethnic flavor reflects the sense of the tradition of the country. Highly recommend for those NOT wanting the rock 'n roll type songs but want to feel like they've arrived at a different country than the USA.

Recommended!!! Since I have been from Africa, I was turned on to world music & Putumayo Music. Putumayo World Music has music that touches every part of the World. Anything released by Putumayo is excellent. I do in fact highly recommend Putumayo Presents. One of my Very Faves is Putumayo Presents Cape Verde. Excellent! Good Job Amazon.

I have been listening to Putumayo CDs for many years. I enjoy listening to world music, but am hesitant to purchase music from unfamiliar artists. The Putumayo collections have always provided a lot of good music at a good price, introducing me to artists I had never heard before. Finding this sampler for free on Amazon was a real treat. I'm not crazy about all the selections, but most of them I enjoy very much. I am beginning to appreciate some of the selections more as I listen to them again and again. Download this sampler now.

it's always nice to have free MP3 Download, but what a nice bonus to have such soothing yet sexy music. this is perfect music for driving, sipping coffee, reading a book. very mellow sound. my favorite tracks are #4 (Brazil) and #5 (Cuba).
