Book Description

Do you remember the ONE MOMENT that changed the direction of your life? Neither does Irving Rosen. He's not even aware such a moment exists.

Editorial Reviews

From the Back Cover

Irving Rosen's plan is simple: Remarry his ex-wife so he can divorce her again for a better settlement. But along the way, he starts to figure a funny thing out: why he's such an asshole. A novel about love, family and being quick in Montreal.

About the Author

Jon Tucker was not the greatest athlete of his generation the way he says he was. He says so many, many things. He lives in Montreal, and can be heard occasionally on "WireTap With Jonathan Goldstein" on CBC Radio One. Putz Of The Century is his first novel.

4.0 out of 5 stars A great read! June 4, 2012
Format:Paperback
Anyone who likes Mordecai Richler will like Jon Tucker's debut novel. Such a great read. Strong characters, especially the colourful Irving, coupled with a unique plot had me enraptured. And I even laughed out loud a few times--which is rare for me! I'll be curious what this author comes up with next.

5.0 out of 5 stars sharp, acerbic and clever! May 30, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Tucker can write characters like nobody's business. They jump off the page and into your imagination like fire crackers, where they tickle your funny bone and keep you thinking long after you've closed the cover. He writes women the way they want to be written - smart, tough, curious, funny and sexy, with a longing for adventure and an impatience for fools. The story twists and turns with originality, never predictable and always intriguing. Tucker is a fresh original voice on the comedy scene. Only he could make you root for a Putz like Irving. I can't wait for his next one.

I really enjoyed this first novel by Jon Tucker. The pages turn quickly and on many occasions I found myself laughing out loud as I read. Very recommendable.
