We made the Mississippi Steamboat 3-D puzzle over the holidays. Fun puzzle, but overall we were frustrated with this one. Some of the graphics on the pieces were peeling apart from the foam backing when we opened the (brand new) box (maybe 20 total of the 700+ pieces). Some of the graphics on the pieces didn't matchup completely when put together. The detail pieces (flags, posts) are fragile and didn't fit together securely.
Most of the other pieces fit together fine. It started off well, but when we started working the detail/finishing pieces(towers, posts, wheel covers), they seemed like an afterthought and didn't match the quality of the rest of the puzzle. Not sure I'd buy another one from this manufacturers/series. When assembling this you need to build it in layers as some of the bottom pieces serve as supports for the upper layers. The pictures on the box aren't always clear how the various layers are supported. I guess that's part of solving the puzzle too. It does come with a flyer that briefly describes the history of steamboats.
