5.0 out of 5 stars Hours and hours of pure enjoyment
A jig saw puzzle and a mystery all rolled into one. I loved it! What isn't mentioned in the directions is to start at level one so you compile all the clues and answers to each level. Time has no concept when doing this puzzle.

5.0 out of 5 stars Three Cheers for Wrebbit, January 7, 2000

This is truly a wonderfully conceived and executed software program for the puzzle lover. From the graphic detail to the historical clips, the whole program is fascinating and great fun. Walking around inside the mansion is a blast (especially for me since I was brought up not to snoop around other people's houses....it's not nice!). I just ordered Notre Dame Cathedral today...then the Bavarian Castle...and the Wrebbit web site is talking about the Orient Express coming out in February 2000. I'm hooked. Other reviewers noted the problem with the trays and that is true. You really have to watch where you're clicking. I also made a mistake when doing level one and had to start the whole puzzle all over again. It turned out to be good training, and I learned to be more careful. If you truly love puzzles you will have a hard time finding anything better than Wrebbit 3D.

The first of the 3-d puzzles I purchased. I am now addicted. Great graphics, lots of hours of fun. I didn't even get into solving the mystery yet, as I enjoyed putting the puzzle together. Even after I finished the last level, I went back and put the puzzle together again and again. I ordered the Bavarian Castle and working on it now. I will be ordering the Notre Dame soon.

I bought this game because I enjoy computer games and don't have a place to set up a traditional jigsaw puzzle. Now I'm hooked! The interface was easy to use. However, I didn't like the tray sorting system. If you're trigger happy with the mouse, your trays end up getting combined or dumped pretty easily. I ended up not using it. I was concerned that the exploration part would be kind of skimpy but was pleasantly surprised. There are more puzzles once you're inside the mansion as well as the mystery to solve. The graphics were very good. It was also neat to see the mansion from the inside and be able to identify features that you put together in the puzzle segment of the game. The attention to detail was great. I can't wait to do the Castle and Notre Dame!

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)

This software offers several delightful layers of problem solving. Even if you consider yourself a very good puzzle solver, start with the tutorial and level one and work your way up. This allows you to really get a good feel for the many details and aspects of the 3-D puzzle. Not only do you feel good when you complete construction of the mansion (no matter what level), you then get to go inside the virtual mansion and begin solving the mystery. Each level offers more clues and gives you more access to the many rooms in the mansion. I have had no compatibility problems (Mac OS 8.6). This is a fun, well designed and challenging puzzle.

5.0 out of 5 stars It's Addictive!, February 19, 2000
This review is from: Puzz3D CD: Victorian Mansion (CD-ROM)
When I received the game and discovered I'd have to solve the same jigsaw puzzle four times, I thought I'd made a bad choice. I was wrong! Each time through is more challenging, but just as much fun as the previous. I love walking through the mansion when it's completed and collecting the story within. The film clips of historical moments and Victorian customs add to the entertainment of putting the puzzle together. If I ever finish the platinum (most difficult) level, I'll be ordering another Puzz-3D game immediately. You should too!

Working a computerized puzzle was surprisingly realistic for me. It satisfied that puzzle-solving urge without disrupting my house for a week! I was disappointed in the tray sorting system. I found it rather touchy. My trays keep getting either dumped or combined. I was pleasantly surprised by the exploration phase of the game. It was much more detailed than I expected. There are additional puzzles once you're inside as well as the murder mystery. You do actually feel like you're inside when you look out the windows you just put together! The graphics are very good. I'm anxious to start working the other puzzles.

I bought this puzzle for my husband`s birthday who is a puzzle fanatic. Loved it. First you don`t have to start with the first level, and I to did receive the error message. I send an e-mail to Wrebbit support and they did provide me with a solution. The cause is a compatibility problem with Quick Time 4.1. They did provide us with a patch that corrected the problem and my husband was able to finish the puzzle and solve the mystery. If you do require this patch, please e-mail puzz3d@support.wrebbit.com and explain the problem and they will e-mail you a web site from where you are able to download the update to the game. Hope this info will be helpful to you puzzle lovers.

I don't know what I expected when I purchased this game. I am new to computer games, The Sims being the first one I ever purchased. This line of games is for true jigsaw puzzle lovers only!It took me forever to get through the "easy" level and when I entered the mansion at last, I was privy to very few of the areas in trying to solve the mystery. In order to have more access inside you must put the mansion puzzle together four or five times with each level having exceedingly smaller pieces. I've not been back to start that yet and it my be the dead of winter before I do. If you love puzzles this is your game -- if like me, you're not very patient, skip it!

4.0 out of 5 stars Got hooked!, November 15, 2000
By
This review is from: Puzz3D CD: Victorian Mansion (CD-ROM)
I started this puzzle a bit skeptical but eventually was truly addicted. I was a bit disappointed with the zoom options because it seemed like the pieces were either too small, or too big and I couldn't see enough of them. I eventually did all four levels and then moved on to the investigation phase. I had some trouble here solving the mystery and there was a misprint in the booklet that gave me much grief, but I finally got it. I plan on immediately getting the Bavarian Castle and Notre Dame! I'm hooked!
