No one sing and write music like Djavan im from mozambique and i like him because i understand what he sing and if it would be able i would like to comunicate with him but in portugues im his fan since around 1986, now im 22yers old and im still beig his fan. I dont have money to buy a Djavan title i would like to have one, i dont know how because here in mozambique i just listen him by the radio.thank you

Djavan is one of the best in Brazil. Already considered one of the greatest in Brazil, this singer/songwriter had, in the US, Lee Ritenour and Manhattan Transfer (in spite of the very poor lyrics versions they came up with for the "Brasil" album...) sampling his work. Track number 10, Oceano, is one of the most beautiful songs he's ever written. Paco de Lucia makes a soulful, incredibly beautiful appearance here. I'm pretty sure you'll love to listen to this guy. I also recommend his live albums, vol. I and II. Enjoy !

This is the english-friendly version of Oceano. I have both, and I definitely like Oceano better. Of course I understand the lyrics in portuguese. If you do not speak portuguese and are not willing to try, then buying this cd may give you a glimpse of his poetry, and therefore, may be worth buying... otherwise GET OCEANO.
