This is a fun and thought provoking book of puzzles that will entertain families for some time. They are all original. There are two versions of the puzzles. One is optimized for e-ink kindles. The other is for tablets. Both have the same contents. There is an elaborate introduction and an easy to understand instruction "How to Play the Games." The 104 puzzles are of all kinds and figures, logic, visual, counting, matchsticks, coins, and much more. The puzzles are easy to read and understand, and the solutions to them are easy to find. Each puzzle has from one to five stars indicating how difficult it is. One can go to the list of puzzles and choose which puzzle one wants to try.

The following are some examples: The first, which has one star, indicating it is the easiest, shows four forms and asks which of them fits into a triangle which is shown with an empty space in its center. The third is two stared, a little harder. Seven numbers are shown with six of them having a letter next to them. The game player is asked what letter belongs to the seventh number. The eleventh with two stars shows a square with an empty space and asks which of four forms that are below it fit into the empty space. The 104th has five stars and is the hardest. Thirteen balls are shown next to each other and we are asked how many right isosceles triangles of any size and orientation we can find in the shape.

Having followed almost all of the Grabarchuk Puzzle Quizzes created this player thought that surely there can be no new concepts - this new book should just be a continuation of the same. Wrong! This collection of interactive puzzle quizzes may open with a few fairly straightforward, easily solvable puzzles for those who have been exposed to their expertise before, but soon it becomes evident that this new book is the most challenging of them all.

The variety of puzzle quizzes is vast - spatial relations, configurations, math, thought processes - they are all here and more, and despite the fact that they are colorful and imaginative, they are tough! If ever there were a way to keep the aging brain functioning away from dementia this is the healthy route. But as the tone of the puzzle book design makes it clear, the Family is always there to help - with giving us the opportunity to discover if we've reached the correct answer or not - and the ability to keep clicking until the right answer is illustrated. From such a technique - and with some patience and work - the puzzles become a bit more facile.

This is one of those books that is a must for your Kindle or whatever receptacle you own for downloading. It is especially designed in HD for your tablets. These puzzles will while away the time at airports or on trains or just seated in the park - wherever some action is needed to stimulate the brain - and have fun! Brush up your Betz cells. When I was a kid, we played card games like Old Maid, or board games like Monopoly. We also played outside: tag, baseball, jacks. My dad and his friends got together once a week for a game of dominoes. And we, young and old alike, had such fun. Imagine what we would have thought about games like The Grabarchuk Family produces. Well, it's never too late to learn something new.

The Grabarchuk Family has done it again. In PUZZLEBOOK 104 PUZZLE QUIZZES, they take you through brand new original creations that will challenge your brain to stop being lazy and to think. You study the puzzle (sometimes for a long time, at least for me), click what you believe is the correct answer, and find out if you're right or wrong. Like the other books I've read in the series, there are puzzles for all skill levels, from beginners up to experts. I haven`t reached the 5 star level, yet, and perhaps not even the 4 star, but I'm working on it. When my answer is wrong (it happens) all I have to do is press the back to puzzle button and I get another chance. Easy instructions at the beginning of the book explain how to play the games. I started at the beginning and worked my way through. I'm still puzzling over some of the more complicated puzzles, but will never give up. The "City View" puzzle is a tough one. If you're sports oriented, there are soccer, billiards, and chess puzzles.

When I've finished playing the games, my brain feels refreshed and happier at my successes, like your body does after a nice long walk or exercise session. PUZZLEBOOK 104 PUZZLE QUIZZES is available as an eBook. What a fun way to spend a chilly fall afternoon or evening. So what are you waiting for? Put your brain to work.

If you've worked any of the Grabarchuk Puzzlebooks, you already have an idea of what to expect with their puzzles, but they continually make things more interesting with challenging new puzzles. As with the other Puzzlebook collections, puzzles are ranked in the order of difficulty, from one to five stars. I got through the warm-up 1-star puzzle and several of the two-star puzzles pretty easily, but some of the 2-star puzzles were already getting noticeably tougher.

What I enjoy most about the Puzzlebook series is the diversity of the puzzles and how they challenge you to take varying approaches to solving the puzzles. Sometimes a straight-ahead logical approach works, but for many puzzles, "sideways" thinking is required, since a direct step-by-step approach won't work. Some puzzles require basic arithmetic, algebra, or geometry, but many puzzles require an understanding of spatial relationships to solve (for example: seeing isometric views of several keys, which key fits the lock?).

I take my Kindle with me whenever I'm going to have to wait somewhere (doctor, dentist, car repair, etc.) and I often end up working Puzzlebook brainteasers that I haven't solved already. (Note: I keep a sheet of paper and a pencil handy, since they're helpful for solving some of the puzzles.)

I worked the puzzles on a Kindle Fire HD, and the game play was fine. The graphics are very colorful, and the HD's touch screen made playing very fast.

If you've worked Puzzlebooks before, you pretty much know what to expect with 104 Puzzle Quizzes HD. If you haven't tried a Puzzlebook, and you enjoy mind challenges, you owe it to yourself to try one.
