5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic!
Coming out of Seattle, TSKS's "PXC" is what excellent Goth is all about. Haunting melodies, lush and emotive vocals, and a brooding atmosphere that will beg you to turn out the lights and light up those candles. Every track on the album is a winner. 1.0 out of 5 stars The Cure need to sue this band.
I'm a huge fan of dark-wave/goth/post-industrial/etc., so I'm not writing this out of unfamiliarity with the genre. This music is a sad rip-off of The Cure circa Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me, minus the sense of humor. On most of the songs, the guy is even imitating Robert's voice and guitars, and the worst part is the lyrics are all cut and pasted from various Cure songs-...

Coming out of Seattle, TSKS's "PXC" is what excellent Goth is all about. Haunting melodies, lush and emotive vocals, and a brooding atmosphere that will beg you to turn out the lights and light up those candles. Every track on the album is a winner. Stand-outs include the creative Cyndi Lauper "Time After Time" remake, the deliciously sorrowful "Sometimes Silver," and the emotive "Somewhere as Me." But, as all of the songs each carry a strong meaning and intense lyrics, it will be up to the individual listener to decide their favorites! : ) If comparisions are allowed to be made, TSKS sounds not at all unlike The Cure. But don't let that misled you. TSKS is powerful, and original, enough to stand on their own and should carve out a good name for themselves amongst the Goth faithful. Seriously, this is one album that should not be missed by any fan of Goth or Darkwave. 5 Stars easy. Try them out on mp3.com to see for yourself!

I will say the cover version of Time After Time is genius and you should by the MP3.

Otherwise, this band isn't even derivative- they are thieves, and should be sued for copyright violations.

5.0 out of 5 stars Tri State Killing Spree is the best of the old and the new.., February 11, 2002

Tri State Killing Spree eptomize the best of a genre for me. The name is misleading, they're Gothic, wonderfully Gothic. The music is an amazing blend of deeply melancholy lyrics and stunning electric violin, layered with bass and keyboards that hit that place in your chest the electronic eighties used to. The sensually resonating vocals recall Bowie at his best. This music moves me!
