I have to admit it, the pretty blue lights sucked me in....1000 watts? Cool.
Then it arrived.
I took it out of the box, looked ok, I noticed there were no batteries included for the remote. Kinda turned me off. Reputable brands ALWAYS include remote batteries.
I hooked it up and turned it on.
First thing I noticed was the volume knob was sorta warped...when I turned it, I could tell it wasn't attached flush to the unit. It turned crooked.
As soon as I ran a signal into it, the hellaciously loud fan roared to life. I run a home studio, so silently running units is a must, but this was ridiculous. So loud I couldn't hear myself think.
The illuminated graphic meter displayed the same readout on every band no matter what signal was fed into the unit. Purely a cosmetic light effect. Not functional at all.
The remore DID NOT WORK at all.

I was very disappointed, swore a little bit to myself and boxed the piece of crap up and shipped it back that afternoon.

If you want pretty blue lights, that's what you will get. Don't expect anything else.

Amazon promptly refunded my money.

I'm afraid what would happen if I kept the unit beyond the "return period".

P.S. I only rated it a star because Amazon forces you to rate the product something...

This Pre Amp is very low quality.
Granted its just over a hundred bucks, but if you buy it, IMO this will be a waste of $100+
The quality of sound is horrible... it is NOT my speakers or wires, anything like that.
The features are minimal and there are 2 fairly awkward handles in the front of this thing.
They make it so it wont fit inside of the entertainment center, thats not that big of a deal, since I think the handles might be removable.
But overall
this is a complete waste of money.

I am hoping that I can return this with no issue!

Excellent for karaokee, sound very good. I would recommend this amplifier the to the people who likes karaokee. I am very happy with this Pyle amplifier.

The first one I bought lasted about 2 minutes. Pluged it in and was just checking it out and it started to smoke, nothing worked. Emailed Amazon and they shipped another one out ASAP, no problems at all, and paid for all the shipping. The second one works great! I use it for Karaoke and am very pleased with it.Having the receiver is a big plus so you can just listen to music if you want.The remote is very handy.It does have a nice light display.Even with cheaper speakers,it was plenty loud enough without any distortion.I would recommend this amp.

The unit is nice. I do have a few issues with it though and one is the noisy fan. If you are not listening to it with the volume up, you can hear the fan. I "tune it out", but it can be a distraction. Also, it must be turned off/on manually. The remote does EVERYTHING but turn the amp on and off. Also, everytime the amp is shut off, it goes back to default settings, not a BIG deal, but annoying if you don't remember to reset it.

I just need an inexpensive amp for some audio experiments that had an ipod and MP3 input and remote control. Seems OK for that purpose, and I am not disappointed. I have not used the tuner. It has a very noisy fan that goes on when the music starts and goes off when the music stops. Quite irritating if you want a relatively silent environment for listening.

This product has a safety problem. I bought Pyle P1000AT in July 0f 2008 and was moderately satisfied with it. But on 01/20/2008 it almost caught a fire and endangered live of my disabled wife. In a normal CD playing mode with two speakers by 30W (8oms) each it overheated and smoke started to come from it. Fortunately a nurse visited my wife at that moment and she was able to disconnect an amplifier and through it out of the house while amplifier was smoking. My wife would not be able to do this herself and it could end tragically. When I returned home I removed enclosure and found that printed circuit board started to melt and parts around the amplifier chip were burned. It is clear that it was either a manufacturing defect or a design error that may lead to fire. I tried to find a telephone number of the Consumer Service for Pyle Pro but could not find one. I tried to submit a "product safety form" to Amazon using a link on "Fine Print" window however the system did not take my submission giving the error message every time without identifying the error. Apparently any safety issue related to the product is considered to be an error.

When I purchased this amp I was iffy about the quality of it due to it's small price tag and power output but this thing is truly astonishing I love I have it powering 2 4" speakers with tweeter a kenwood 12" and a 8" bazzoka and it powers all of that easily cause it is a 1000 WATT amp

I HAVE THE ICINEMA 1000WATT HD SPEAKER SET THAT IS MATCHED UP PERFECTLY WITH THIS SYSTEM. SO THE SOUND QUALITY IS OUT OF THIS WORLD. BUT LIKE MOST 1000 WATT AMPS THIS SYSTEM
NEEDS TO BE COOLED. IT IS DONE BY USING A AUTOMATIC FAN THAT TURNS ON AND OFF WHEN NEEDED AUTOMATICALLY. THE FAN CAN BE ANNOYING IF LISTENING TO THIS SYSTEM SOFTLY. OTHERWISE
THE SYSTEM SOUNDS AND LOOKS GREAT. ALSO THE IPOD DOCK IS A WONDERFUL PLUS.
