If you are going to buy Pyle, make sure and get a MUCH bigger rating than you think you need, or check it in person at a store before buying.

For a cheap amp I did not expect true 2 x 120 watts of power, but I did expect more than 2 x 50. Using an oscilloscope, multimeter, and a 440hz sine wave it became apparent that this amp can only put out clean power up to 2 x 50 watts at 4 ohms and 2 x 25 watts at 8 ohms. The volume knob does go high enough to put out 2 x 120 watts at 4 ohms, but with way too much distortion to be practical. I did not bother to test the other features of this amp, but I bet it's still a decent amp if you don't ask it to put out very much, or if don't mind your sine waves looking like Machu Picchu.

Bottom line: seems like a decent amp, but only puts out 40% of claimed power before distortion takes over.

Many reviews here talked about the unit overheating, and some complained about burned and smoked units.
I have been in the audio business for 30 years, and was somewhat surprised at the lack of ventilation allowed in the case...to the point that they had even glued cloth over the top and side vent holes!!! Seemed odd and unnecessary to me.
Still, I played it for a full day at low volume to "burn it in", and then noticed that when I turned it up to 1/2 volume, it did seem to get a bit warmer than I would feel comfortable with.
Open case...rip off cloth grill material...and then proceed to use a screwdriver to "lift" every other vent, and "depress" between ones. I did this on top and bottom and sides. Result? Much cooler running!!!!! I've done this on most of my amps over the years, including ones in the $4000 range. Why not? Basically, the manufactures don't have time to tweak like this, and it does look a bit odd.
So, I don't know if this will fix the issues, but basically, heat kills!
2 weeks later running 24/7, it still sounds great (especially for the price). Next, I will lift the unit with some fabricated "feet", to allow more cooling underneath as well. A couple of pennies under each foot would be good for a start.
I am surprised at the sound quality...fairly clean and transparent, with less distortion than I would have expected. At low volumes, it sounds great, and is non-fatiguing. Distortion does start at about 2/3 volume, but even with speakers rated at 8 ohms, and medium efficiency, it plays plenty loud for my tastes. A tiny amount of 60 cycle hum is noticeable at 0 volume, but I don't hear it at all when 4 or 5 feet away.
Overall, I am considering buying another one for another room!!!!!!!
BTW...I am running a 16 GB flash drive in the USB...no problems.

I must admit, when the first unit (120W/channel model) arrived, it sounded great with my two outdoor speakers. But the enjoyment lasted only briefly, until the Pyle went up in smoke, literally. The thing heated up so much that the case was hot to the touch. And I was only running the unit at about 1/3 the max volume with plenty of ventilation. Because the amp played my mp3's from an SD card beautifully, and I also listened to my cable box radio stations thru the rear RCA input, I wanted the thing to work. So, I ordered a replacement. Well, guess what? The replacement, also played briefly at about 1/3 the max volume, got hot to the touch and burned up as well! I suspect the power supplies are providing too much juice to the circuit boards. Regardless, I'm not willing to test Pyle's entire bad batch, so I'm returning both lemons and unfortunately will have to seek a similar amp from another maker. It's a shame, because I really liked the amp.

I read most of the reviews for this product but decided to try it because of the relatively low cost. Here is what I think.
The Blue LED's are no problem. I use the amp at relatively low volume and rarely see the lights.
The rated power 2x120 is PEAK Power, not effective. I thought that this was misleading as it doesn't state that anywhere on the product description. I discovered this in the back of the product manual and it states only 40W RMS, effective power. I may be wrong but I thought that the RMS value is the parameter to specify for audio products.
The remote, one of the main reasons for purchasing, does not work at all. I don't know if is the remote or the amp. I changed the battery and still no joy. The defective remote seemed to be a current theme in the reviews.
HUM! low level hum that gets louder with the volume, even with no signal in. I recognize it as 60 cycle noise but it should have been filtered or eliminated through design efforts. This is another measure of the quality of the product, poor. Another problem I have is the lack of a balance or L/R control. I was looking at the PCAU45 unit which had a balance knob and then bought the higher power unit, motivated by the increased power. I should have been more careful and noticed that the PCAU46 didn't have the balance control. I'm a little hard of hearing on one side so the balance control was a much needed control, but that was my fault.
They vendor charges $20.00 for a return, %30 of the cost of the unit. It is not worth it to return it and go through the hassles. I will use this as a learning experience and when it breaks or dies due to excess heat I will send it to the recycling center to be sacrificed for the good of the planet.
GOOD Pts: In spite of the hum it drives my 2-50Watt Pioneer Speakers just fine.
Suggestion: For lack of a balance control a small mixer can be used in the front end to balance the left and right.
You get what you pay for.
