Product Description

These black full range mini cube bookshelf speakers may look cute, but they pack a big punch. They’re great for home theater systems or stereos, and they look sharp on tables or bookshelves. These speakers are powered by 3” paper cone drivers pushing 100 watts, delivering a frequency response of 90 Hz to 18 kHz. They’re also video shielded to prevent damage to CRT monitors. When you’re looking for power in a small package, look to these bookshelf speakers from Pyle Pro.

I bought this pair because my young daughter grabbed a speaker off the mantel and dropped it breaking the cone of the Bose speaker. I started researching replacements for the broken Bose speaker and found the prices of one replacement speaker to be ridiculously expensive. I found this pair and thought what the heck for the price I will give it a shot before I break the bank on one tiny speaker. This pair sounds better than Bose for sure. I compared them side by side and found that the Pyle had a better sound. I now believe Bose is all hype. Don't believe all the hype and the Haters of good cheap sound quality. This is a great speaker set with unbelievable sound out of a tiny cube. If you wanna waste a ton of money to impress your friends by saying you have a Bose go right ahead but I am now a Pyle fan.

I bought these as a temporary solution for my new flat panel plasma monitor. The monitor provides stereo output at 9W@6ohms per channel. My final intent is to eventually get a complete surround sound setup. Until then, these speakers sound better than any built-in speakers on any tv that I've ever owned.

I don't know if they can be beat for the price.

Bare bones but adequate and compact replacement for much larger speakers, hooked to a tuner used primarily for listening to FM radio. Lacking in "room vibrating" bass, but a very economical space-saver.

BARE WIRE CONNECTORS; would typically require adapter connectors, soldering, etc., for use as computer speakers.

I hooked these up and was amazed at the sound from these small speakers. I am using them to listen to retro formats such as vinyl. Amazing sound and great value.

I ordered two pairs of these speakers, and three out of the four were broken when they arrived. I can't blame shipping, they were packed correctly. Given the low price of the item, rather than returning them I chose to simply use epoxy to fix them. Once the speakers were repaired, I installed them as satellite speakers in my surround sound system. Their sound quality is good for this application, I wouldn't expect great bass response from 3" drivers. They attach using the standard spring-loaded terminals, so they can quickly be installed in any home theater system. I would advise mounting them in a location where they won't be at risk of being knocked off a table or shelf, as they will most certainly break. They can be mounted using inexpensive brackets, as they are light, but this will involve drilling small holes (preferably in back) and using short self-tapping screws. If the case was better made, I'd most likely give these five stars (again, good sound quality for size and price), but the poor quality of the case makes me give them only two stars. In short, if you don't mind breaking out the epoxy and gluing them back together, you'll be happy with them as satellite speakers.

We just got a 42" plasma tv, and as we all know, the speakers on these TVs aren't very good. I have a high end stereo (not home theater) and can play the TV sound through the stereo speakers, but my big speakers are made more for music, not dialog. I got these Pyle speakers to use as an "inbetween" solution. I hooked them up as the "B" speakers on the stereo and they do a very admirable job. MUCH better than the TV speakers. When we want to just relax with a show, we turn on just the B speakers, when we're watching something that needs big sound, we turn on the big speakers as well for nice full sound. Eventually we'll get an AV tuner as well, and use these little speakers for center speakers. Not a lot of bass response, so don't expect that, but miles better than the built in TV speakers.

I was concerned at Christmas time when my wife got these for our rear surrounds... the packaging, though sufficient looked like cheap chinese printing. But when I hooked them up to our Denon 7.1 head, I was blown away! They really do handle a lot of power, as long as it is good clean power (like Denon is famous for providing!). I would not recommend them as mains, but for surrounds, they are a great value, and add a lot of crisp, clean audio! Sure, you can spend tons more for much better speakers, but for surround fills, it is a fat waste of money. In fact, most professional movie theaters use great speakers for center, mains and sub-woofers, but relatively crap speakers for surrounds...

As for mounting, I found some decent little surround speaker mounts at Wal-Mart made by Phillips for about $9. There are no standard mounting holes on these Pyle's, but I took them apart and was very impressed that the plastic cases were thick, sturdy ABS plastic, so I opted to use self-tapping screws to attach the speaker mount. Worked like a charm, and very sturdy!

I used these to replace the broken speakers on my PC subwoofer system. They sounded a little different, but they were still nice. the original speakers had a little more high range I think. but they had a tweeter, these do not. These speakers are weighty for their size and have some heft to them as well which really does affect the sound quality.
