We are pretty pleased with this item. It's got a pretty cool pattern on the back of the screen. The rotating screen is nice, and the remote works well as long as your pointing it in the right direction. The resolution is a little bad, it's nowhere near the quality of an ipad, but it's good enough to enjoy a movie. The volume seems to vary depending on the movie...some movies seem to be able to have loud volume, others not so much, but this was intended to be viewed at a close distance, so the volume shouldn't need to be terribly loud...if in doubt there is a headphone jack, I'm sure headphones would solve the problem.

We did have a little trouble playing a variety of video files...we seem to have the best luck with Divx and VOB...it seemed hit or miss with every other file type. (It play's commercial dvd's no problem, it's the files we had on a thumb drive that we had to convert to another file type to get it to play).

We were also pleasantly surprised that the player came with the power cord for the car, as well as the wall, and the cords necessary to hook it up to a tv...and a jacket/cover to attach it to the back of a headrest in a car (with little cut outs for the speakers.

I think this was a good buy. My intention was to use it as a dvd player at the gym with workout videos, and this will be perfect.

One last note - I was shocked how small the player is...the screen is 7 inches diagonal (6x3.5inches) the whole player is 8x6.25 inches. Just making a note.

I bought this about a year ago. You get what you pay for.

Pros:

1. It was cheap. We bought it to see whether our daughter would take to watching movies on a long ride. She did.
2. It plays a large variety of formats, from a large variety of media.
3. It was surprisingly rugged. My daughter has dropped this thing as much as six feet to hard tile, and so far there is no damage.

Cons:

1. The car adapter actually caught on fire after a few months of use.
2. It comes with very few instructions and took forever to figure out how to work it, and this is coming from someone who is at least reasonably tech savvy in most cases. It's not very user-friendly or intuitive.
3. I can't get the remote to work with it at all. I think I managed to turn it off once. Maybe I'm just an idiot, but it feels like it should be easier than that.
4. After a year, the speakers began sounding "fuzzy." Purchasing headphones took care of that.

We've taken this on a few trips and the kids watch movies with no issues. The volume is a little low, but all-in-all, it was a great buy. We stop at Red Box, pick up a few DVDs, and the kids are content throughout the ride.

Update: We've used it about a dozen times with no issues. All the DVDs we've rented have worked with no issues. The kids can plug their headphones into it and away we go.
It's a little hard to see from an angle, but since it swivels, not much of an issue. I see a lot of people are having issues and/or don't like it. I guess we're lucky because we do like it and I'd recommend it.
Also to note: the case it comes with is ok, but it didn't fit on the back of the headrest in our Kia Sedona minivan, just an FYI. No biggie though as they just put it on the console in between the seats.

I bought two of these for an 8 hour road trip with my boys and they were a life saver! The set comes with a remote, chargers, and a head rest case. The DVD players work awesome and I have had no trouble playing any movie. The charge stays for several hours and I just hooked the in-car charger to them as needed. Great buy for us!

The item arrived on time, and as described. It's a wonderful product, and would make a great (and greatly appreciated) gift. The picture is extremely clean.

Spent DAYS looking for something like this so I can use it in my small room to play games and stream speedruns on. It comes with the cable, and all I had to do was buy an RCA/AV coupler and hook it all together. Works like a charm. Audio is LOUD. Even on the lowest possible setting, it's loud as hell. Could be a good or bad thing depending on what you're using it for, but it was loud enough to be heard in my mic from a couple feet away. The screen is okay for what it is, and you can always change the settings to make it much better. It plays movies off of USB and SD, along with the actual DVDs. You can hook it up to a TV and use it as a multi-media player. The case has a really nice textured design to it. The screen can turn side-to side, swivel all the way back, and even be closed with the screen facing out like a really fat tablet. The battery is good and lasts a long time, too, if you aren't near a power source. Power cable is VERY short, though. Roughly just 3 feet long. Overall, an incredibly good purchase. I use it constantly and haven't had a single problem for the 6+ months I've had it. I searched and searched and went back and forth on products for a very long and frustrating time. If any of this sounds good to you, stop wasting your energy and get it already.

Best buy (price vs quality). I was very satisfied when I open it find out it came with a belt to attach it to the back seat of the car, and a travel case.

I didn't expect much of this product, and I was right. It was built cheaply and the menus were difficult to navigate. It did play well for 2 1/2 weeks. Then the power would not stay on longer than 10-20 seconds during use. The battery never charged. I ended up returning it. I did try to contact Pyle and was informed that there was nothing they could do to help me as there was no warantee on this item due to its "value pricing." All in all, very disappointing.

Don't do it. Not too great of picture and audio will lag with video after a while so won't match up. Better options out there. Pass this one up.
