IVE HAD JL,ORION,KICKER,CRUNCH,SUPER PRO, AND THESE SUBS ARE VERY IMPRESSIVE..THEY ARE BUILT BETTER THAN MOST OF SUBS IVE MENTIONED UNLESS U WANNA PAY MUCH MORE...THEY ARE HEAVY DUTY..THE CONE AND RUBBER SURROUNDS ARE VERY STIFF,AND DEFINITLY NEED TO BE BROKEN IN...I HAVE 2 OF THEM HOOKED TO A 700 RMS PLANET AUDIO AC1000.2 IN A GRAND CHEROKEE..IT VIBRATES THINGS ENOUGH TO WHERE I CANT SEE OUT OF THE MIRRORS AND CAN BE HEARD A BLOCK AWAY WITH THE WINDOWS UP..NO THEY ARE NOT 12'S OR "JL AUDIO" BUT THEY DO SOUND AWSOME FOR SOME 10'S...AS FAR AS HANDLING 1000 WATTS I DONT KNOW..BUT I KNOW THE 350RMS IM PUTTING TO EACH OF THEM IS PERFECT AND THEY COULD STILL HANDLE MORE POWER.........................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................UPDATE: IVE HAD THESE FOR 3mo. AND THEY SOUND EVEN BETTER NOW THAT THEYRE BROKEN IN....NO PROBLEMS AT ALL...IVE HAD "KICKER SOLO-BARIC" 10's THAT DIDNT EVEN SOUNDED THIS GOOD....I DONT KNOW ABOUT OTHER PYLE SUBS,BUT THESE ARE GREAT IF YOU WANT YOUR SYSTEM TO SOUND GOOD AND ACTUALLY FEEL IT...BUT YOU WONT WIN ANY CONTESTS...........UNLESS YOU PUT 4 OR 6 OF THEM TOGETHER IN A HUGE BOX...THEN YOU PROBABLY CAN

IT is indeed a dual voice coil sub woofer, and the craftsmanship is way better than what you'd pay $30-40 at an automotive store. I doubt it's good for it's "1000w" and I could see feeding it 250 a channel, which is fine and it sounds great if you box it correctly. The cone looks great, and the magnet is very solid. This is a pretty deep sub though, so your box will need to be a good 12" deep or so for it to fit in the box all the way, and the wire posts are the quick release type so this is very easy to install. I have two of these, and one of them I'm running off a 500w amp in my home and the other is in the trunk of one of my cars. I was surprised, it's a very good sub for the price, and I recommend it to only receive maybe 63hz before it sounds fuzzy, which is great, and most decks can't be set to do higher anyway on the SW channel. AS far as aesthetics, the flames on the cone look great, and there's no real cheap plastic on the whole deal, and the chrome plating looks good, so one could easily mount this backwards firing on the outside of a box, and it would still look good.

For the price, I recommend you at least try it, and if it blows, I won't be that upset because I didn't pay that much to begin with. This is my 3rd pyle product I have purchased, and so far they have all been pretty flawless, (so far) we'll see.

Iv owned this sub for 1 month now and it has satisfied my needs for the the bottom end of my stereo. I have it hooked up to an alpine 300 watt 2 channel amp bridged and hooked the sub coils up is series for an 8ohm circuit. Sounds good for rock and death metal but flat out beats to rap. I bought it to replace my jlw0 10 so it's sitting in the ported box the shop hooked me up with. Also I'm basing my experience with this sub in an extended cab ford ranger so... Interperate how you like

I paired two of these in a dual ported box I made, with a 1100 watt (400rms) mono amp. They provide plenty of punch for rock. If you're looking for car-shaking bass move up to the "12 Pyles. I am a fan of Pyle now, because of the value of these speakers. Super-heavy, and very durable. I have assembled 4 dual ported sub boxes thus far, not one complaint.

I ordered these subwoofers to replace my JL 10W-0s that simply wore out after 8 years of metal. I was shocked by the construction and the quality of these Pyle subs. Believe it or not but these subs actually hit harder than the more expensive JL's andI would recommend these to anyone. I'm very unexpectedly suprised and happy with my new subs and they look as good as they sound.

Very nice look and design. The bluish purple with the flames look really good in person. Sounds really good and hits hard. I can hear a lot of the lows in songs much better with this, all the way from the really low vibrating frequencies to the mid-lows. I was amazed by it for the price. I have it wired in parallel from an Alpine MRP-m650 pushing out 600 watts RMS @ 2 ohms. I put it inside a bazooka tube, obviously without the bazooka woofer (which failed rather quickly). The mounting holes lined up perfect.

This sub hits pretty hard. It does require the proper amp since it is a dual voice coil sub. Make sure you set it up properly.

Great Company. Always a wonderful product with affordable pricing. I've purchased many subwoofers over the years and Pyle has never disappointed, great bang for the buck. Superb sound, excellent quality in workmanship esthetics and function.

If you need a couple of subs, these are good speakers to buy. You can't beat the price and they take a pretty good beating. Make sure you get plenty of power to these speakers the sensitivity is not the greatest (like a high end speaker) but give them some power and good EQ they sound pretty darn good. I have them in a sealed box, a cubic foot or so of room, they don't hit the lowest tones so well, but hey they were really inexpensive.. Worth the money for sure!

these subs bump, took at least a month to break em in i have 2 of them hooked
up to a 2300 watt pyle amp. after listening to some tech n twiztid they bumb.
they dont seem to wake up till half way, not shure if its my subs or amp
but i dont listen to it down anyway, who does with subs
