4.0 out of 5 stars Good Value
These are good middle - high tone speakers suitable for Chrysler in dash replacements. They are very stable at 22 watts RMS and handle 50 watt peaks with clarity.
For a budget speaker to upgrade standard factory stereo with a decent aftermarket CD player, AM/FM receiver these front speakers will do the job.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not so great.
I got these for a 98 Cherokee rear speakers. I put one in and tested it against the factory speakers by adjusting the fade and balance and the Pyle is noticeably quieter than the factory speakers. I'm no audiophile, the sound quality is about the same as the factory speakers in my opinion, just quieter. So if you're looking to replace non working factory speakers, these...

So if you're looking to replace non working factory speakers, these would be just right for the price. If you want an upgrade in sound you should probably save your $20 and put it toward better speakers. Since these come with the thin red/black wires I plugged one into the home stereo and got tinny sound that lacked the volume of the other speaker. I'd give it fewer stars but the price is so cheap. It's not even worth returning them, maybe I'll use them for something.
As soon as I find the stock speaker connector I'm going to put the factory speaker back in and put these on ebay or in a flea market.

At first I was skeptical, reading the many awful reviews these speakers received.. But let me tell you how pleasenetly surprised I was.. They sound GREAT! I have a head unit with 50 watts a channel output.. So ya figure - 25 RMS... They bump just like they should.. Super clear vocals and great MIDS... With a small 4 channel amp I can only imagine they would sound even better.. For the price they are perfect. Even if you are just replacing them with a factory head unit, still the best for the price.. More exspensive, better grade speakers, will def with out a doubt out perform these, but in the same breath - THEY SHOULD. If you are looking for a high end speaker to hook up to a high end system - keep looking, but if you are looking for factory replacements, an upgrade from stock to a better head unit, than these are a great pick.

Just ordered these to replace the door speakers in the front of my 90 Civic Wagon. I upgraded the to a CD player in the dash and wanted to upgrade the speakers (factory were worn out and buzzy) without spending a lot of cash on a 240K+ car. I am no audiophile, but I would recomend them to anyone who is looking for a good value. They do not have as much bass as a pair of 6.5" DP Audios (similar price) that I tried in the same location but could not keep due to resonance with the door. I don't know if that is due to the size of the speaker or the quality, but either way it sounds better because of the lack interaction with the door. Installation was as easy as it could be.

5.0 out of 5 stars GREAT for the price!, May 11, 2008

This is a really great speaker. The quality is more than good enough fro the price that you pay. I bought these with a set of 4" two-ways from Pyle. I swear that when I turn on bass boost in my car, they handle it just like a basic sub. I don't know how long they'd last keeping it like that, cause I don't. But they are very good. Very clean and clear sound that is put out well.

3.0 out of 5 stars Yeah, they work but .... MEH, November 2, 2011

So after reading the other reviews here on Amazon, I decided to try these speakers out. I wasn't looking to have my mind blown but I was looking forward to something better than the 20 year old speakers that were completely dried up in my existing car.

And that's exactly what I got...Better speakers than what I had. For the money, you honestly can't complain but these speakers are not ideal for any type of LOUD music. The mid-level frequencies get CRUSHED under any substantial load. Base response is practically zilch but when combined with a subwoofer, they are actually not that bad.

I have no idea what Pyle does to rate their speakers but ... 200watts is absolutely a farce. The magnet on each speaker is TINY. The 20 year old Pioneers that came with my car had way bigger magnets. Not that magnets are the whole story but sheesh. When I opened these new out of the box, I was starting to worry at the size of the magnet.

In the end, these speakers are capable of being loud when coupled with an amp, but don't expect too much tonal clarity - especially in the mid range. You would think a 3-way speaker would have a decent mid but these do not. Everything gets crushed and requires you to EQ the center band. If you have a 5 band EQ, you might get away with it but anything else will be limited with regards to the audio output.

When installing these in the front of my car (under the dash), the three way design makes them stick out ... ALOT. So keep that in mind if you are installing these inside a dash. Diameter wise, they were OK but I had to really wedge the plastic bits of my dash and grille in order to fit the speakers and even then they are bulging. Just keep that in mind...

So three stars for these guys because they do what you want for the money but in the long run, you will be throwing them out after some use. They got me out of an audio bind in the car as well as a financial bind with the wife but honestly, you are better off saving up another $40 and dropping the money on some way better speakers.

Put these in the front of a 1999 Ford Escort Wagon--didn't see that the clips were shipped with (but they were) so I ended up fastening them with some sheet metal screws.

Sound is fine...not spectacular, but good enough.

I payed around $23 for these, and as a media engineer I was hoping to receive something that was at best, bearable. At first they sounded very tinny/airy, but after awhile they settled in and are actually not bad, and very good for the price (operative term there is "for the price").

I've heard many bad stories about Pyle products. But these speakers are very good for the price. Easy to install. I'm not a sound pro, but to me quality of these speakers is well above average. 5 stars.
