I am by no means a home audio expert... but...
The description states:
Handles 100Watts Per Channel with Speaker Systems that have a Minimum Impedance of 8 Ohms

I read this as the lowest it would drop the impedance is 8 Ohms, which my receiver is capable of. After opening the item, the manual states it will drop the impedance to 1.7 with all 6 speakers operating. If your receiver can only handle 8 Ohms +/- a little, you should only select one set of speakers. If you can only run 1, maybe two sets of speakers, why not just use the A/B selector on the receiver. This doesn't really fit my need of wanting a whole home audio system that I usually have 4 or 5 of the speakers on at once.
The build quality seems good, not cheap feeling. Volume sensitivity is great and it is a good looking unit. I am disappointed it won't work for me. I called Pyle to make sure I was reading the directions and description right. He told me yes, and that if I wanted to run all 6 sets of speakers at once, I would need a receiver or amp capable of less than 2 Ohms.
I was hoping Pyle did make an impedance matching selector version of this unit, but he stated no.

In summary:
Do your research, don't assume your receiver will be ok. Learn about impedance minimums and matching selectors. This unit will be great if you want music on your deck, then turn that off and turn it on in your kitchen, then turn that off when you go into the living room... that's just not what I wanted..

It annoys me when people leave a 1 star review if a item works fine, but doesn't fit their need.. I do believe this is quality unit, therefore 4 stars, but the description could be a little better.... kind of misleading.

This is just my take on the set up... I could be way off though...

I researched this product and found numerous sites that state it is an impedance matching speaker selector. Little did I know that it is not! After order the product and opening the box, the product manual states that the more speakers you are playing / using, the lower the impedance. I have to return the product and order a new one....hopefully Amazon will help get this taken care of, will update when I get this straightened out.

The PSPVC6 speaker selector works well once I'd figured out how to connect the wires to the terminal strip properly. The manual didn't give illustrations and step-by-step instructions on the proper way to do it correctly. The good thing about it is that there are only two ways to connect it!

I bought this under the same impression as several other buyers - that it would not drop impedance and that you could safely run all 6 pairs of speakers at the same time. I connected everything up without reading the detailed manual like some of the other reviewers, and it works as I EXPECTED it, but maybe I'm not using it as Pyle intended it. Receiver output into unit. Unit distributes to 6 sets of speakers placed all around the house (Bedroom, Living Room, Kitchen, Backyard, Garage, Foyer.) I have cranked it and shaken the whole house - no issues, and I've been using it on a powered zone 2 of my receiver without a separate amplifier. So, it works as you may think from reading the description, but we may be living o the edge of equipment damage.

Wire hook up for speakers is a little bit delicate. When I have all speakers going, channel 6 at around mid point will cut out. I have to lower it one notch and then it works. Otherwise it works great. It does not have volume fine tuning instead it clicks when turning the volume up. You can always use your master volume on your stereo for fine tuning. all my speakers are 60oms. 4 channels have 2 speakers each at 60oms. the 5th & 6th channel each one speaker.

This product is what I needed to setup a sound system at a restaurant. Whoever originally installed the system daisy-chained several pairs of speakers together and it was blowing out their receivers. I undid the daisy chain and ran the speakers independently to this 6ch selector and it relieved the receiver from being over-worked and blown. This unit protects the receiver and allows volume control for the speakers in sections.

i have speakers throughout my entire house. I wired them myself and used to just have them hooked up to a receiver, but I thought I'd get serious and upgrade to this speaker selector box. In my experience, Pyle really makes some quality products and this box is no exception. 100 watts per channel is quite powerful, and a frequency response of 20Hz-20KHz is just what I need. My whole home is an audio system now. Truly awesome.

I purchased this after purchasing another speaker selector without volume control. In my opinion you definitely want a speaker selector with volume control for each set of speakers. Without volume control all your speakers are playing at the same volume and sometimes you don't want the speakers in all areas at the same volume. This allows you to turn off sets of speakers and control the output to each set of speakers.
