No Buzz
No Hum
No distortion
I needed to tone down the upper midrange on my Cerwin-Vega speakers. They were sounding a bit hissy when playing music.
The manual says it should be hooked into the tape monitor loop. My receiver does not have one,but it will hook up through most any input, with impressive results. I hooked mine through the C.D. input.
The manual is not real informative. But with just a bit of common sense, hook up is a breeze. The whole process took less than 10 minutes.
Setting the lever controls and EQ Sliders took about 10 minutes as well. However, after listening to a few c.d.s, some tweaking was needed. Nothing drastic, and quite simple.
Not only did it clear up my hiss problem, it improved the low end and the highs as well. I didn't even know they needed any improvement until I heard what a difference this EQ makes on all frequencies. This is the 6th EQ I have owned. This is also the best sounding EQ of them all.
The small green-orange-red LED display is excellent. Great in full light. Even better in low light.
It has 6 inputs on the back, with easy to get at buttons for each on the front.
The mounting brackets are detachable.
The one drawback would be the blue rings around the two level controls. Way too bright, and right next to that great LED display.
I cut holes into some black cardboard paper, and slid them over the knobs, and against the lights. Like magic, they were gone, and I was/am a happy man.
I seldom hand out that 5th star. The blue rings alone would have called for a 4 star review. But the rest of this gem is so great, and the ease of resolving the problem so simple. I think the 5th is warranted.
The price is definitely right, for the quality.
In closing, let me say, I am extremely picky when it comes to my sound equipment.
I highly recommend this EQ. (Obviously).

I bought this Pyle Pro-10 Band Equalizer and replaced my old one, and the one that came with my Bose 901 series three speakers. And this Pyle Pro Equalizer drives my Bose 901's and all my other seround sound speakers and ther is no need for the Bose Equalizer to be hooked up and the sound from the Pyle Pro-10 Equalizer w/Spectrum Display is really Allsome just Unbelievable.....I would recomend the Pyle Pro-Daul 10 Band Stereo Graphic Equalizer W/Spectrum Display to anyone its a great buy for the money!!!!

This is the second Pyle equalizer I've tried recently (and the third overall if you include the Technical Pro) and all have failed me. I had high hopes for this one, the sliders lacked the irritatingly bright blue lights that plagued other models, though the output dials have this bright blue light, more about them in a minute.

First things first, taking the EQ out of the box I noticed that the small sticker that "seals" the unit marked "warning avoid opening" had been slit which to me indicates that it had been opened, not sure how well that would play out if it ever needed warranty work. Again, like the others it features a grounded plug meaning you can't plug it into the back of a receiver so you'll have another power button to press every time you listen to music. Maybe not an issue if you're a DJ.

The sliders had a quality feeling to them and they had a center spot that had a soft detent, nice. As I indicated the sliders were devoid of that annoying light which was a real pleasure. However, when I power the EQ up the first thing that I noticed was a low high pitch hum, it drove my cat crazy, she sat transfixed by one of the speakers. Not good. I toggled the EQ on and off, it was definitely introduced by the equalizer, you can't hear it when there's music but between songs or at rest its there, softly but there. With that I knew I was boxing it up to return but figured I'd share the rest of my observations. The small output dials lack markings so if its dark or even low light its hard to see their position, maybe not a big deal since you'll likely set them once and forget about them. The power button was ever so slightly crooked which didn't effect performance but made me want to straighten it out. The spectrum display was actually pretty good.

I wasn't going to write a review for this Equalizer, because the most helpful review, being an excellent review, and right on about everything.
But...I personally think the average score for this EQ is just WAY to low, for it's quality (both sound and build). It's just a great equalizer!
It's simply a superb deal for such a high quality, and excellent sounding passive equalizer!
Also, I do use it with other very high quality sound components, Sherwood, Panasonic, Polk Audio...All high end Theater quality components. So I'm not a DJ, and this isn't for a DJ's portable system.
This is definitely a 5 star item!

It's easier than most to hook up.
It's sound quality is second to none, except for a 6 or 700 dollar unit.
The price for this quality is just to good to pass up.

The front lights don't look like a circus going on, when it's on and playing.
On my last EQ, there was an LED on every slide controller, and the light output was overbearing, to the point of being obnoxious and extremely annoying! I think the lights on this one are done very well.

The slide controls are very good quality! Very smooth, and not loose at all.
They have full adjustment (+12db to -12db).
The slide controls themselves are much easier to control and set, than my last EQ simply because of it's overall height. This EQ has an overall height of 3.5 inches, so there is much more room for a longer travel of the slide control. My last EQ was only a little over 1.75 inches in height, but the same +12db to -12db, so just the slightest movement would make a big difference. This design of the Pyle-Pro allows for easier adjustment, with the longer slide travel.
Also, just so you know, this unit measures 17 inches wide.
