The remote has no power button.
Joseph T. Meagher
Switching out the receiver for an old Aiwa stereo yields sound (albeit crappy, the review of those speakers will say more) so it is definitely the receiver unit.
Corlawc
The sound quality is perfect for my needs.

I got this Pyle Pro Amp to replace my old crummy one that i have been messing with for years. I can't tell you how exited i am to finally have something that works and sounds fab. It has a few features i particularly like- first on the back it has two audio hook ups so i can leave my lPs and my computer plugged in a and switch between them as i want.
It also has a usb hook up so you can plug in an mp3 player directly.
It has more power than my current speakers can handle so i guess i have to upgrade those next. For now though i am really pleased with this Pyle Amp and i think the price is better than fair.

Not a consistent clear/clean sound, very loud fan that is always on full strength and a remote control that doesn't work no mater what after you have touched its "display" button (crazy).

I also had no success when trying to get other universal remotes configured to control the device.

I honestly believe the unit was designed be some Engineering "WannaBees" or "drop outs". It was probably designed overseas and didn't pass their own design quality test and so its being "dumped" here.

I would strongly recommend avoiding it.

Wow! For the money this receiver is a great deal! I have it hooked up to a pair of Klipsch Heresy 2's and it rocks the house. I love the usb plug in, the two microphone jacks with bass, treble, echo and a seperate volume control to sing along with whatever your media source and the way it scans for radio stations when you set it up. Since the description is unclear it has outputs for 4 speakers, 2 rca inputs, 2 microphone jacks so two people can sing along with at the same time(this feature is disgustingly entertaining!) and a mp3 usb port. It also has a bass and treble adjustment for the main volume. The unit is sonically tight and crisp with amazingly no audio hum! I could not believe that it pulls all of the stations that my Sansui TU-717 pulls in on a similar antenna. The high volume internal cooling fan is definately efficient! The only thing missing is a preamp/amp split so that I could run a tube buffer or graphic eq but hey I really am thinking out of the price range of this unit! I bought this system for my son who was quite the doubter but after it was hooked up he was solid on the fact that his old man did his research. Anyway his smile tells the tale!

I did not go wrong when I purchased this stereo receiver. tons of power pushing my system, what an upgrade from my old one, this is a real powerhouse. It pounds. Remote control, quality crafted stereo receiver for under a hundred bucks! I thought it would be good, but did not expect this. A sweet deal!

This would be my 2nd Pyle Pro Audio purchase. Both products have been been a complete waste of time and money. Don't BUY THIS.

1. AM/FM tuner -- Does not work. It only picks up one radio station and I'm not in a dead zone either.

2. The max volume allowed is very weak. Considering the noise of the huge fan they mounted on this thing you'd be expecting for 300 watts to be completely awesome. It's not. My Logitech Z5500's Destroy this receiver in both sound and volume and that's just computer speakers.

3. It only has 2 inputs. That's right. 2.

4. Sound Quality is completely.... Meh.

5. It will cycle through each and every input device until it catches a signal on power up. Then if you didn't have a source selected it will go to FM which doesn't work anyways.

6. YOU CAN'T PROGRAM YOUR STATIONS!!! -- It auto programs much like a tv will add channels when first turned on. So you'll have 50 presets of stations you'll never listen too (provided... oh wait... FM doesn't work)

7. Most... user unfriendly device ever. Nothing about the remote makes sense. Ever see a remote without a power button to turn your equipment off? Congrats. You will. Sort of makes it... pointless.

8. 1 of the audio channels goes out constantly. You can fix this by giving it a light wack on the side and it usually will then power both speakers.

FINAL WORD -- I had bought this in hopes of having a Home/DJ receiver hybrid. WIth the mic inputs and a mixer input I thought this would be something nice to have in the bedroom as well as when friends ask me to do a show. 300 watts should of been more than enough power to light up someone's house and still make the floor shake. It's a shame Pyle Pro audio once again proven to me they need to stay out of the DJ/Home Audio market.

This was a $100 paperweight and I'm tossing mine in the garbage. I'll be looking at the Shorewoods instead.

Yes this thing does get LOUD, but the quality of the audio signal is absolutely atrocious. My tweeter's on my Energy EF-500's were getting some terrible static and feedback even at the lowest volume.

The controls on this thing are also EXTREMELY hard to figure out, as there is no directions in the manaul how to set stations.

Fan is LOUD
Feels Cheap
Terrible audio quality
Jacks on back are very cheap.
Equalizer bars do not correspond to beat of music, (the unit LAGS)

Frequency response is 40hz-15Khz which is GARBAGE.

Amazon ought to be ashamed to carry this junk on their line-up. You got enough BAD reviews to open your eyes.
Just reading the murdered English in their manual is enough to tell you this is made by prisoners. Just try to
tune to your station on the FM - hopeless. The noisy constant fan ! The unreal low price should have been a warning.
Shame !
Charles
