This review is from: Pynchon Papers: Letters of John Pynchon, 1654-1700 (Publications of the Colonial Society of Massachusetts) (Hardcover)
The letters and selections from the Pynchon account book are an invaluable resource
for the early economic history of the Springfield area and the fur trade. Ruth McIntyre's seventy page essay on Pynchon and the fur trade (in vol. 2) is absolutely essential reading. Simply put, there is no better primary source on this topic. |
