Part of the reason this is so unknown is the American release on ''' JR AMERICA'' was done horribley..no lyric's.no nothing!!
Now this is a little blurp of DOOM DEATH(an EP) from a band that sold out in two second's!! they started out as a death metal band even! ATOMOSPHERIC as hell..total DOOM!! these guy's were so unique!! I love the female vocal's on here as well(1992) WE NEVER GOT A FULL LENGTH IN THIS VAIN..DAMN THEM!!! I always like to listen to this ep..it really is one the most unknown in DOOM DEATH!! Like their peer's ATROCITY(German as well!) they sold out so quick!! so only buy this by PYOGENESIS!! ''STILL BURN IN FIRE...''

This is definitely one of those secret gems that never quite surfaced. I picked this up right after Pyo released their "Waves of Eurotasia" EP in the mid 90's and at that point nobody knew that just after two EPs the band would turn to a very different style of music, which was alternative and Euro-pop. On the sound of the early material you can almost tell they were craving a more mainstream sound, but it is vague enough that it just gave their music a unique touch of melody and catchy riffs in the midst of very tasteful melancholic doom, in fact you could almost dance to parts of this album.
I've been a very involved member of this genre of music for around 20 years now, and this is for sure one of the 20 albums I would put in an underground metal time capsule. Sure, the cost of this EP is not cheap these days because it is so rare and few people have it, but really it's not so bad. A lot of similar titles of the era go for $100 to $200 because back then metal was a very underground thing, and many labels would just make one release of a thousand copies or so. Pick this up and enjoy for a long time to come! |
