2.0 out of 5 stars Quality Issues, July 16, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Pyramat Wireless PC Gaming Chair 2.1 (Sports)
Here's my experience with this chair:

Box arrived from Amazon, shipping was excellent, box in great shape. Despite this, 1 bag of the bolts was opened, scattered in the box; they were all there, with one extra.

Foam: Medium to low quality. After about 2 months of use, the foam doesn't spring back.

Tilt Lock Mechanism: This has started to wiggle, after a few hours of sitting in it, it will slide out to allow the chair to tilt. Easy enough to remedy with a piece of tape; but still shouldn't do this, tilting all of a sudden when you aren't expecting it to is rather startling and a bit of a safety concern; I'm tempted to let the Consumer Product Safety folks know of this particular issue, I can forsee someone getting hurt if this is a flaw in the design rather than a fluke on mine.

Connections: There are 3 connections under the chair, 1 for controls/speakers - 1 for bass, and the last for the power. Probably due to the bolts being scattered in the box, 1 pin was slightly bent; chair isn't 100% operational as a result. Two months into my purchase, I'm still dealing with Pyramat's warranty return; although I could shorten this by dealing with Amazon.

Pyramat does answer the phone and apparently *tries* to please their customers. My first contact with them resulted in being directed to another number; fine. After calling that number and giving them the serial number, I had to send an email - fine.... All is ok? No. After waiting about a month, I emailed them again asking about the status. Two days later I get a response that I need to fax them the receipt. They could have said so during my intial call :) So now another month has passed and still no replacement. I'll get this resolved, that I have no doubt; they do seem to be helpful, but will have to spend a bit of time on the phone being pushy it appears.

I'm going to give this two stars. I appreciate the design; the construction is sturdy for the most part. They need to revisit the connections and use a type of plug that isn't prone to bent pins, use better foam and address the tilt mechanism.

3.0 out of 5 stars dissapointed, February 1, 2009

This chair sounds good only with video games. The bass is horrible for music. The lights on it are too bright for dark rooms. One head turn to the left or right and the LED blinds you. The cushioning on the seat gave out and started going flat in one weeks time. The backrest on mine is crooked because of misaligned screw holes from the factory. You can't put any weight on the armrests for getting up because they will break off. The armrests are screwed into the seat and backrest's cardboard like material. The armrest cushions are simply glued on, so each time you take your arm off you hear the tackiness of the glue starting to give out. I do like the recline feature and how it makes my computer games sound though. Battery life is tolerable for casual gaming. I got a little better sound hooking up my source directly. I didn't like the placement of the volume knobs cause i was always rolling main volume back to zero by accident. Separate bass volume was nice. Overall it is an acceptable CASUAL chair. Don't make this huge oversized chair your corporate seat it will not stand up from its cheap materials. And for those who want more detail I rate this chair with a usuable frequency from 120hz to 13khz. There is no low bass whatsoever.

1.0 out of 5 stars Unbelievable on how it arrived, September 13, 2008
This review is from: Pyramat Wireless PC Gaming Chair 2.1 (Sports)
I never got the chance to use the product. Showed up in a crushed box. Granted the courier is somewhat responsible but when I opened the box the chairs contents were literally just thrown into this box with no packaging material to protect it in transist. Don't waste your money. I sent mine back without even removing it from the box. I spend at least a couple thousand a year with Amazon which they are great. This is one product and retailer though they need to drop. Dosen't make them look very good.
