great 12v power supply!
For those that are looking to run a small to mid range piece of equipment, this baby does the job. I have been using it to power a 50w ham rig, and it works like a champ.
-There are plenty of more expensive ones out there, but whats the point? runs cool and quiet, and is a great price!
-oh, and having both the cig jack as well as power poles(that can accept banana plugs or bare wire) is a great plus

This is a nice power supply. It's regulated so it doesn't interfear with the deviece you are using. I bought this model for 2 reasons. 1) 10 amps
2) Has a lighter plug on the front as well as the pos/neg terminials so you can charge a cell phone or other lighter plug deviece. This P.S. is quiet. I don't hear it when on.

This is my second Pyramid power supply that I use as source for some fairly sophisticated battery chargers for large radio controlled model airplanes. I have seen technical reviews evaluating the power output and these are as clean as units costing significantly more. Great value, 100% reliable (first one two years and going strong), performs exactly as advertised.

I got this to use with an old backup laptop that I could no longer get a power adapter for but still had the 12v auto adapter. It's been flawless. Couldn't beat the price anywhere and Amazon even upgraded the shipping to 2 day at no charge, so how could I go wrong?

well built heavy duty power supply - I use it to run my 12v Sirius Sportster radio at home. I figured it was better to spend $50 for a power supply intead of spending $50 for a 120 volt adapter for the Sirius radio since I can use the power supply for anything that needs 12 volts long after the Sirius radio is obsolete.

Update April 2010 - used this for three years and it has worked flawlessly. I may purchase another for use at a different location. This is a very well built, solid, heavy power supply.

The Pyramid PS15KX 10A 13.8-Volt Power Supply with Cigarette Lighter Adapter is a very reliable power supply. At also protects against shorts and over current. This power supply will work with all 12v products that have less than the 10A current need. Don't be mistaken, you need 13.8v to power 12v products. This is the average voltage that most Automobiles supply on their battery and cigarette lighter plug. I use this supply to power dew heaters for my Celestron CPC 1100 Telescope. This is a well made solid built power supply. I am very satisfied with my purchase.

The problem with most DC power supplies is they tend to generate "Hum" into your audio equipment, unless they are well-designed.
This unit is well-filtered and the output is a clean 13.8 VDC.
The lighter port and the DC terminals are very convenient for fast hook-up to just about and 12VDC item you want to run.
I purchased 3 units and am very satisfied with the quality of workmanship.

A lot of outside work at my place takes place during the nice weather. The home is situated lower than the road on the NW side. So in order to have a radio to listen to I've resorted to converting an AM/FM car radio with it's antenna situated high enough to receive Houston/San Antonio FM stations. Two 6x9 Jensen's in baffles that use to rattle my 67 Mercury now drown-out the Chihuahua next door that yips all the time when someone's present. The Pyramid PS15KX 10A 13.8-Volt Power Supply with Cigarette Lighter Adapter has ample power plus the cigarette lighter makes it easier to grab a smoke!

I've got a Dewalt cordless but over the years I've accumulated three Harbor Freight 18V drills. Converted the battery pack by removing the dead-dead really dead batteries and connected a vacuum extension cord to the correct contacts. Lighter adapter on the other end, plug-in to the power supply and WALLAH! Runs just a bit slower (13.8v to 18v)but torque is constant.

Great Power supply... sure I'll come up with other uses!!

I am very impressed by this product. I use it to charge two RC airplane batteries at the same time. Plenty of power. Works as advertised.

The 10A 13.8-Volt Pyramid PS15KX Power Supply is the best for my application. It has done a great job running my Ham radio equipment.
