I purchased the PEQ-60 to equalize vinyl and 78 RPM recordings for direct-to-CD transfers, and I've been very happy with the results. No technical problems after months of heavy use.

I have a mid-fi system which consists of a Marantz cd5001 cd player, an NAD C720BEE receiver, a pair of Revel Concerta M12 speakers, and a pair of Wharfedale Diamond 9.4's. The PEQ60 has made a big difference in my system. The treble sparkles without being harsh, the midrange sounds smooth and the bass is tight. I would give this unit 5 stars but I had a humming out of one of the channels from the eq. Defective unit. Amazon was great with the return. They sent me a new one overnight and a shipping label for the return. Excellent customer service. If you are looking to tweek your system, this eq will do it. Recommended.

A lot of stereos these days come with little control of bass, treb and mid-range. Sure, they come with many cool pre-programmed modes that do dramatically alter the sound but when listening to audio CD's there is only one setting that works best for the sort of music I listen to and that is the 7-channel Enhancer. My stereo allows adjustment for bass and treble from a scale of 0-10 but the actual diffirence is not all that significant.

I have a Yamaha RX-663 receiver. Tons of connections and settings. Its awesome!
I have a Yamaha CDC 697 CD player and listen to a lot of "Live" recordings from artists such as Joe Satriani and John Mayer.
I have an older set of Sony 3-way tower speakers with 10-inch woofers, 4-inch mids and 1-inch tweeters.
I also have a pair of Polk R150 bookshelf speakers and a Polk PSW 125 powered sub.


All of which by the way do sound wonderful. But, listening to Joe Satriani live and then switching to John Mayer acoustic live requires additional tweaking that my Yamaha just really doesn't do.

This equalizer gives you 30 total bands, 15 per channel to fine tune and tweak to your enjoyment.
Its very easy to set up and even easier to figure out.
Once set up, before powering it on set all levelers evenly in the center. Power everything up and launch your favorite CD. Keep in mind that professionals put a lot of time into producing those CD's so you really shouldn't need to make drastic changes. Alter a setting or two a little bit for each the left and right channels and sit back and listen to it for a little while before making other changes. Little by little you will tweak this puppy to the perfect sweet-spot making it worth every penny.

The only thing that I never really noticed when looking at this was that it is a rack-mount unit where its face plate extends beyond the unit itself with screw holes so it can be mounted. I didn't need that but its also not going to affect me as it fits where I need it and its looks are not as important as its sound.

Aside from the extended face for mounting its not a bad looking unit. I would like something that offers a more graphical display but the more you start looking for those added features the more you're going to pay. For the money, this is exactly what I needed.

I recommend this equalizer if you have a mid-range, or even a high-end stereo system. It really does enhance the quality of sound to a higher level by making a flat sounding receiver sound crisp and sharp with a good deep base response. A great product for a Great price. I bought two and I'm really satisfied with these equalizers!

The LEDs indicators in front do not function. The sound quality is nice, my system improved a lot.Very good product overall.

i never got this one the order was wrong.it wasnt instock or something like that.and the price was wrong i never got it

My current setup was producing too much bass. Otherwise, my speakers were excellent. With this equalizer, I was able to create the right sound environment.

This puppy gives you the option of boosting/cutting 6/9/12 db. very useful when you have poor/low level mixes.It outputs 8ohms, so make sure your speakers and amp are rated the same.Some people complain about this unit having only one input and one output, no biggie if you have a preamp or a receiver. You cannot beat the price for what it offers.It has breathed new life into my music.

I ordered this Item when the discription matched the picture, an EQ. I received the Book shelf speakers instead. Got a RA number from JR, returned it and got my money back. Now the discription is correct but the picture is the same EQ I wanted. I called JR and they said the product I wanted is over $60 not the $24.99 listed. They also stated that it is Amazon's fault for the misleading item price, picture and discription. Come on JR...you make the listing, fix it!!! This is a rating for the merchant not the items. I never opened the box to the speakers. Never received the Equalizer so I have no idea if anything was good or bad.

-- Like someone else, I ordered the eq. from J-R and got speakers. The rep told me that they haven't had these units for months and no one cares about dropping the listing. I wasn't about to pay to ship the speakers back so a UPS return sticker was sent via email which I printed up. Don't get suckered into paying shipping for something you didn't order or want.
