Pyramid PS26KX 22 Amp Power Supply

It's hard to find things that are made the old way, heavy, metal and analog. Some people complain about Pyramids lack of lighted meters on all their power supplies but I rarely use mine in the dark. Very stable voltage output at any amperage or voltage. I ran the unit at 13.8v 22 amps for 16 hours to test it and although the rear heat sinks get quit hot, it seemed to have no problem. I don't think I would use any power supply continuously at more than 75% of its rated output, you're just asking for problems when it's made in China.

I use this power supply to power a handmade, routed, wooden 1:32 scale slot car track. Works great and the price was the best for the variable voltages I needed for the track. I researched a bit on the Internet prior to buying, and this product seemed to be one of the more popular choices. I run ~6 volts for the youngest, and ramp it up a bit for older, but anything over 9 volts isn't really necessary.

The unit is a heavy linear adjustable power supply. I returned the supply since it created noise in the 3.5-4mHz HF band.

I have a 60 foot 2 lane slot car track in my garage. The Pyramid PS26KX is all I needed for consistent variable power.

I guess that could be a contradiction but you get what I mean.

Power supply works well, but the application that I am using it for (electroplating) has the power supply deliver a high pitched sound, even though it is within the range that it is supposed to work...
