Editorial Reviews

Recorded throughout 2009 and 2010, Pyramid of the Sun is the most dynamic, melodic and tuneful Maserati album of the band's decade-long career. Retaining the trademark driving momentum that makes the band's live shows so euphoric, Pyramid explores the lighter and darker sides of their sound, anchored by more melodic and varied song structures and exhilarating production. In other words, you'll not only bob your head and tap your feet, you'll also involuntarily find the tunes lodged in your brain.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pyramid of Rock November 9, 2010
By Phaelon
Format:MP3 Music
The sound of Maserati is a discipline all its own, and with Pyramid of The Sun, the development of their shimmering and sonically charged talents is taken to a new level of instrumental rock. The best way to describe such a band is by the name they bear, because if a Maserati could be plugged into an amp, this band is what it would sound like. Their play is calculated and done with a clean accuracy that screams technical with style points all over it. The sound is unique, electrically charged, and versatile in carving out their vision of rock. Great album, start to finish.

5.0 out of 5 stars Maserati's Best Yet November 17, 2010
By carlj34
Format:Audio CD
Having just recently purchased Maserati's Passages and Inventions For The New Season in the last month, I figured to just wait and buy the new Pyramid Of The Sun at the Maserati show in Pittsburgh on 11/16/10 and I'm glad I did. Their show was awesome and so is this cd. I first heard of Maserati's Monoliths on the Weather Channel's "Local On The 8's" and was instantly hooked. I do not know much about their older albums, but I definitely recommend purchasing these 3 Maserati cd's.

5.0 out of 5 stars A rythmic chug of hypnotic, trippy psych Krautrock November 23, 2010
Format:Audio CD
5th? album from Atlanta, Georgia band who play Krautrock/space rock with psychedelic, metal
and even jazzy elements. The purely rhythmic journeys are fast, trippy & hypnotic; chugging
along with smooth & powerful changes. These are complex, easily danceable patterns with a
clean & detailed feel that's ultimately riveting, with a narcotic insistence that both invigorates and
calms. Shades of Neu, Eat Lights Become Lights, Goblin, Trans Am.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of my top ten albums ever!! February 9, 2013
Format:MP3 Music
In this album, start to finish, Maserati distill clean pure uncut magic into driving bass lines, hypnotic rhythms and an intricate evolving lead. One of the best albums ever. Keep up the fantastic work.
