Praful describes the new CD, Pyramid in Your Backyard, as 'jazz meets electronica' with many world-music elements. It features 12 songs and is produced by Praful's labelmates on Rendezvous, the duo of Adani & Wolf. The album has several guest vocalists, singing in English, Portuguese and Indian Hindi. The vocalists include Praful himself, Sandhya Sanjana from India and Katia Moraes from Brazil. N 2 Groove. 2005.

Very nice album and very original!!! I have Praful's first CD and between two they are very different. Don't take my word for it, listen to Amazon.com samples. If you don't like new age music this would not be your cup of tea. I enjoy this kind of music; it's very relaxing, smooth and very creative. Praful does a very good job playing sax along with mixing in some new age stuff. I was very surprised after I read some of the reviews!? Unfortunately, this kind of music misunderstood often. Before you buy it listen to the samples. I got this CD because I heard a song from this album on the radio, "Moon Glide", which is fantastic stuff. My advice to you, don't read reviews listen to it yourself and judge it for yourself, everybody's tastes are different. I give it 5 stars!!!

It took a couple of listens, but I really enjoy the new Praful
release "Pyramid In Your Backyard". It is a nice mix of Smooth Jazz and Electronica, along with elements of World Music with Indian and Brazilian overtones. The vocals are nice, especially "Eternity" and "Naked". This CD will not be for everyone, but if you are looking for a nice blend of interesting music, I would recommend it.

How did he do this?
Here is an intriguing blend of jazz, indian, brazilian, middle east, (etc!), with Praful's incredible sax play. I am discovering this CD over and over again. Praful's first CD is good, no doubt. In my opinion, this one is more creative and engaging. Now that I've said that, I need to listen again to his first CD. You won't be disappointed. Give it a try. Don't stop until you've heard the last track...the sax is great and I've just replayed it 3 times.
