3.0 out of 5 stars Good basic book, February 7, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Pyramids: Egyptian, Nubian, Mayan, Aztec, Modern (Paperback)
This book is well organized and has clear, easy to use information. I am pleased with the basic information provided in it. I think it most suited for people in late Primary School or early High School, when aged around 10 to 12 years old.

What has disappointed me is the scanty detail on cultures other than Egyptian, which are relegated to two or three paragraphs with a picture at the back of the book. This is not what I was led to expect from the prominent use of multiple culture names on the cover.

I am also deeply disappointed with the lack of more complicated and detailed information.

- No realistic photos are included

- The timeline lists only the largest timeframes, with no other details

While this book is adequate for completing very simplistic school projects it has not been helpful when doing more in depth research as it does not cover things comprehensively and also lacks any 'further reading' suggestions which would guide the reader to a more useful resource.

While interesting, I would not have purchased this book if I had been able to examine it in person before buying as it does not forfill the purpose for which I bought it.
