Pyrex Accents Bakeware 9-1/2-Inch Pie Plate

This item was a gift. When asked, she stated that the pie dish was just great, especially in removing pie from over to table.

And I like these. Handling these plates is a breeze, because the silicon handles are convenient and make moving a hot pie out of the oven much easier. These were the pie-plates I remember from childhood, the ones that contained fragrant, flaky fresh fruit pies oozing with sugary goodness like my Mama used to make. My pies lack that come-hither appeal her pies used to have. And they sure don't taste like them, either. Actually, my pies are frequently kind of funny-looking, although my family swears they like them. Whatever. They eat them. And I haven't caught anybody laughing at them outright.

Trust me, these pie plates will produce gorgeous pies, when they're in the right hands.

But I do know one thing, and it's that she and I bake with the same solid quality cookware that delivers even browning and uniformly good results.
I love Pyrex cookware very much. I own a lot of it. Also, because there's been some stories in the news about imported Pyrex knockoffs cracking under the heat and imparting impurities to food, it's nice to be able to depend on the genuine article.

One itty-bitty snag with these, though: I can't use the pie rings I own with these. You know, the rings that you place on the rims to ensure your fluted crusts don't burn?
They don't fit these plates well. Otherwise, would be an unqualified 5 stars.

Buy them. Tell anybody that asks that I think these are great pie plates. And they will make beautiful pies...since you're not me.

this is a good glass pie dish. i cook cornbread in it myself, but it comes out easy all the time.
red handles on side look nice also
