When it comes to bake-and-serve ware, I always trust Pyrex. I've been using a variety of Pyrex products and have never had any reason to complain. I recently bought my second set of Pyrex glass custard cups for $7.99 from Amazon (50% discount from the normal price), which I felt, was a great bargain. It is not always that you find a stylish quality product that is microwave, oven and freezer safe.

I use the cups to make instant cakes, also use them to serve fruit salads, ice cream, custard and other baked deserts during social get-togethers. I find these cups very useful when I have to reheat a small portion of food either in the oven or microwave.

However see to it that you don't put them directly from the freezer to the oven. Let it remain at room temperature for sometime or else the result might be cracked bowl (Basic Science Concept). I highly recommend these bowls and feel that this product is a must for every homemaker.

Pyrex is a high quality item at a reasonable price. These are durable and slightly larger than their counterpart, six ounce cups. That extra four ounces seem to make all of the difference. My children like to eat their morning hot and cold cereal out of these. Who am I to complain? They are smaller than traditional bowls, so that I know that they are not over eating. And the clean up is quick and easy.

These are great bowls. Not too small, not too large. Great in the microwave. Excellent quality pyrex. Great value for the money.

I bought two sets of these Pyrex custard cups three weeks ago. They came via UPS, packed very well, but very cold as the outdoor temperature was somewhere near 0 degrees F.

I let the cups warm up after unwrapping them. Then I washed them with hot soapy water and dried them. I put some graham cracker crust in the bottom of six cups. I put the cups on a metal jelly roll pan to hold the little cups on the my electric oven rack. The cups were in the oven for four minutes at 350 degrees when I heard a loud pop. One cup had shattered. There was glass all over my oven, and little pieces of glass in each of the other cups I was baking. Garbage handy, all crusts into the garbage.

After washing the remaining cups that did not break, I found a hairline crack at the bottom of one, so I threw that cup away.

Now using these Pyrex cups only for cold foods, and not in the microwave oven either for fear of another cup breaking with heat.

Now looking for real ramekins for baking foods. Will have to pay more to get what I really need.

These are not the custard cups you want if your looking for the old style pyrex cup with the wavy tops, keep looking.

The bowls are slightly heavier glass than the old set we've got from 20 years ago. I like these better.

These little bowls are great for:
holding that last bit of leftovers; or
using as a dip holder in the center of a large plate; or
warming up the baby's rice cereal; or....on and on.

I have had a couple of sets of these in my kitchen for years. They've been dropped, baked, boiled. Indestructable. Indispensable.

Flexible and pretty.

These pyrex dishes are just right for holding ingredients while preparing dishes. Also perfect for custards, jello and other desserts. Even useful as water dishes for the kitties! Clean up beautifully in the dishwasher. Recommended.

The only issue I have with these larger custard cups is they are a tad too big for me, but my husband loves them and uses them all the time for his yogurt. Nothing wrong with the product, just not quite right for my own day to day cooking needs.
